The property was nice although not as described. We were advised the cottage had no AC but would cool off at night but it was terribly hot/like a sauna and no airflow. It was cooler outside than in the cottage. The vacuum barely worked, the kitchen sink leaked, the pans were old, the deck had no railing, the trampoline had no net, some of the bedding and mattresses were stained. Very little toilet paper and laundry soap were provided. The dock was very old/wood splinters. There was a crib/wood in the water which had rods sticking out and caught onto a tub and ripped a hole in the tube. The directions to the cottage were wrong and we were unable to reach the host. Fire alarms were disconnected. The water had an off smell so we purchased drinking water. The bunkie was not insulated and very hot. It was listed as sleeping area but not ideal for "liveable" area.Positives: The fishing was great, loved the beach area and garden, which we were allowed to taste. Lots of firewood. Cute little doggy door. Boat, paddle boards, and paddle boat. The host left food in the fridge although we would have preferred an empty fridge as we had very little room for our own food. We also could have used more room for our belongings, the host had a lot of his personal items in the cottage. We enjoyed our stay but will not be returning.Overall we rate the cottage: 3.

Thank you Kristen for your comments. I liked that you provided suggestions and positive remarks. You were the first rental and there is a learning curve.
I will address your concerns.
Too hot: Each room has a ceiling fan and 2 extra fans were provided. In summer I keep all windows open at night to allow colder air to enter and close the windows in the morning
Fire Detectors: New batteries are installed.
Leaking Sink: Repaired.
Water: The source is well water which is fine to drink. The smell comes from the hot water tank. This smell is common from well water. Just run the cold water for a few seconds to flush the hot water out.
Trampoline: There are NO plans to provide netting on the trampoline. It is on grass and sand with no nearby obstacles.
Railing: I am getting quotes on the railing.
Laundry Detergent and toilet paper: I guess if you stay in one place for 32 days as you did, you will need more.
Dock and pans: This is a cabin built over 20 years ago and will have some stuff over 20 years old.
