A Singular Parisian Jewel in the Heart of Saint-Germain
Tucked away on a tranquil, centuries-old street in the storied heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés — mere steps from the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, and Notre-Dame — this exceptional 17th-century Hôtel Particulier offers a rare opportunity to dwell in Parisian history without compromising on modern comfort.
Behind its original 1600s wooden door, framed in hand-forged antique ironwork, a cobblestone porch and secluded patio introduce an architectural treasure where heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary luxury coalesce in perfect harmony.
Meticulously restored with reverence for its noble origins, the residence features solid oak flooring, centuries-old painted beams, intricate wrought iron details, antique terracotta tiles, and marble-clad bathrooms — all seamlessly paired with discreet high-speed WiFi, central air conditioning, and custom-designed furnishings.
Ascend one of Paris’s most magnificent 17th-century staircases to the Noble Floor, where grand living and refined entertaining await. Host elegant dinners beneath the beams in the formal dining room, seating 10 around a hand-carved 3-meter sono wood table — accompanied by Saint-Louis crystal, sterling silverware, curated linens, and an integrated sound system for unforgettable soirées.
The adjacent chef’s kitchen is a triumph of form and function, appointed with Belgian blue Hainaut stone floors, black granite countertops, and premium appliances including a Quooker tap, Thermomix, steam oven, and induction range — ideal for both gourmet preparation and casual elegance.
The 50 m² grand salon stuns with six towering windows that flood the space with light and frame a postcard-worthy view of the Institut de France’s gilded Cupola. Here, 400-year-old painted beams, Versailles parquet flooring, a Bösendorfer grand piano, and a cinema-grade Apple TV with surround sound elevate the experience to the height of Parisian sophistication.
On the upper floor, the Master Suite offers panoramic views of the Cupola, a serene sitting area, a bespoke walk-in wardrobe with safe, and an indulgent marble bathroom with underfloor heating. The second bedroom, ideal for guests or family, features its own marble and granite en-suite, generous closet space, and a private terrace fragrant with jasmine — a hidden oasis in the city.
Both suites are equipped with silent, centralized A/C — a rare and precious amenity in historic Parisian homes. A discreet, shared laundry with premium Miele appliances is also at your disposal.
Whether for a romantic escape, artistic retreat, or refined city residence, this extraordinary townhouse offers a privileged vantage point on the soul of Paris — steeped in elegance, enriched by history, and tailored for the modern connoisseur.
THINGS TO NOTE:
The large table in the patio is shared with other Guests in the building. You can have a drink or a snack there at any time of the day or the night, on comfortable banquettes, in a spot enjoyable in every season: shady thus cooler in Summer, yet sheltered and equipped with IR heaters. In that same patio, a wooden door opens to an independent room: the laundry room. Behind that period (1600) door: high-end Miele washer, dryer and steam ironing system. The laundry room is shared with the Guests from another unit. You are welcome using it in the evening, after 7pm, and in the morning, before 12pm. The housekeepers clean your apartment every other day, and replace the linen and towels every four days. A courtesy iPhone is yours for your stay. The iPhone provides all the information about your apartment, plus tourist information such as our commented selection of restaurants nearby, a selection of spots around where to shop for good food, and the 3 official hiking paths in Paris.

Why they chose this property
Stay in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris’s artistic and intellectual center on the Left Bank. Every street breathes history and art: the Louvre, once a medieval fortress and royal palace, now the world’s most iconic museum; the Institut de France, where the “Immortals” of French academies gather under its dome; and the Saint-Germain Abbey, a knowledge hub since the 6th century. Wander streets like rue Mazarine, once paths along the ancient city wall, and discover Balzac’s printing house, Delacroix’s secret studio, and the École des Beaux-Arts, whose students still sketch nearby landmarks. Rue Mazarine itself hosted Molière’s first theatre, Balzac’s writings, and the homes of Manet and Champollion. Remnants of Philippe II’s medieval wall can still be found steps away. ARTS & CULTURE The 6th arrondissement is Paris’s cultural soul, home to over 100 art galleries and leading publishing houses. Legendary brasseries — Lipp, Deux Magots, Café de Flore, and Procope — remain gathering spots where literature and art meet. NIGHT LIFE Saint-Germain thrums with energy. Since the 1950s, it’s been the cradle of Parisian jazz and bohemian spirit — Juliette Gréco, Miles Davis, Boris Vian. Today, lively bars, wine cellars, and restaurants echo that creative buzz late into the night. SHOPPING & LIFESTYLE The Rive Gauche epitomizes French art de vivre. Explore boutiques from Hermès and Dior to Montblanc and Bon Marché. For food lovers: Ladurée, Pierre Hermé, Maison du Chocolat, Mariage Frères, and the Grande Épicerie offer gourmet delights. RESTAURANTS A vast choice of dining surrounds you — from world-class destinations like La Tour d’Argent and Guy Savoy to charming Parisian bistros and cafés. Your stay includes an iPhone loaded with a curated selection of restaurants for all tastes and budgets.
