About the host

I was born and raised in Golden. My brother and I decided to quit our jobs in Calgary, Alberta to work on renovating old properties to bring them up to today's standard. This specific property is so unique as it used to be a motel in the 1960's which allows us to bypass the provincial and town bylaws, allowing us to run short term rentals out of this space.
We love being able to provide a place to stay where people from all over the world can explore our town, which up until Covid, people just saw it as a place to fill up their gas tanks.

Why they chose this property
This property is one of the most rare pieces of land that can be found. at 1.1 Acres, it has a motel business license giving us the ability to do short term rentals in Golden, especially downtown. As people move out of the units, we renovate them giving each their own theme with our vision to become a "boutique hotel". The renovations are all done by myself, my brother/partner Nick, and our Father.
What makes this property unique
We give our guests the opportunity to park their vehicle outside their space and live like a local. The property has long term residents from Retirees, current restaurant/business owners, medical staff, etc. It is its own community within Golden. All of the tenants treat the property as if it was their own complex. Whether it be Pat's Garden where every year he grows a large variety of fruits and vegetables to share with all guests and tenants; or the flowers and plants that the tenants manage around the property.
