About this property

Harbour-Front 2-Bed · Iconic Shed 20 Princes Wharf

Two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment right on iconic Princes Wharf — uninterrupted harbour views, a private balcony, and a secure car park included. Queen bed master, fully equipped kitchen, in-unit laundry, and large sliding doors that open the living space to the water. The Viaduct, Ferry Terminal, Commercial Bay and Britomart are all on your doorstep. Auckland`s waterfront at its most spectacular.

Waking up to the sound of the harbour and stepping onto a private balcony to watch the morning ferries cross the Waitemata — this is what staying at Shed 20 on Princes Wharf actually feels like, and it is one of those genuinely rare Auckland experiences that guests remember long after they leave. This beautifully presented two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment occupies one of the most coveted positions on the wharf, with uninterrupted harbour views that stretch from the Viaduct across to the North Shore and beyond.

The apartment`s open-plan living and dining area is light-filled and generously proportioned, anchored by large sliding glass doors that open fully onto the private balcony — blurring the line between indoors and out, and making the harbour view a constant, living backdrop to everything you do here. Whether it is a morning coffee as the harbour wakes up, lunch in the sun, or an evening glass of wine as the city lights begin to flicker across the water, the balcony at Shed 20 is simply one of the finest outdoor spaces of any short-stay apartment in Auckland.

The master bedroom is a proper retreat with a queen bed, quality hotel linen, and generous wardrobe space. The second bedroom is well-appointed with twin single beds (they can be joined for to become a king bed) and perfectly suited to children, a third or fourth guest, or anyone who appreciates having their own space on a shared trip. Both bedrooms are served by their own bathrooms — a genuine practical luxury that makes the apartment work beautifully for two couples or a family travelling together. The kitchen is fully equipped for serious self-catering, and an in-unit washer and dryer add the kind of practicality that makes a longer stay genuinely comfortable rather than merely possible.

A secure car park is included with the apartment — tucked away in the building and reserved exclusively for your use. Given the exceptional walkability of the Princes Wharf location, many guests find they barely need it, but it is there for day trips, airport runs, or simply the peace of mind that comes with knowing your car is safe and close.

THE BUILDING
Shed 20 — Princes Wharf
Shed 20 is one of the original heritage sheds of Princes Wharf — the elegant 220-metre finger wharf that was once the beating heart of Auckland`s working port and has been transformed into one of the city`s most prestigious mixed-use precincts. The wharf`s distinctive terracotta-tiled promenade, flanked by harbour water on both sides, gives Shed 20 its extraordinary sense of place — you are genuinely surrounded by water on three sides, with the city skyline rising behind you and the full sweep of the Waitemata Harbour opening up ahead.

The building has secure access throughout and is managed to a high standard. The wharf`s unique position means you experience the harbour not as a view from a distance, but as an immersive, ever-changing presence — the movement of ferries and superyachts, the quality of light across the water at different times of day, the salt-scented harbour breeze through the balcony doors. It is, quite simply, unlike anywhere else in Auckland to stay

The entire apartment is yours — both bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, open-plan living area, private balcony, and one secure car park. Check-in is via a key safe located on site Princes Wharf, which operates 24 hours a day — so whether you are arriving mid-afternoon or late at night, access is always straightforward. Full instructions and access codes will be sent to you the day before your arrival.

While we will leave you in peace to enjoy your time in Auckland, we are available 24 hours a day for an emergency.

For those non-urgent like-to-haves, just give us a call or a quick message and we will do everything we can to make this your most memorable trip to Auckland yet.

Step off the wharf and you are immediately in the Viaduct Harbour — Auckland`s premier waterfront dining and entertainment precinct. The restaurants and bars that line the Viaduct basin are a five-minute walk, with everything from casual waterfront dining to some of the city`s finest restaurants on offer. Commercial Bay — Auckland`s flagship retail and dining complex — is directly across Quay Street, with multiple levels of restaurants, cafes, and boutique stores in a beautifully designed waterfront setting.

The Auckland Ferry Terminal is practically next door, with regular daily services to Waiheke Island, Devonport, and the Hauraki Gulf — making this one of the best possible bases for island and harbour exploration. Britomart Transport Centre is a 10-minute walk, connecting the full Auckland train network. The CBD`s Queen Street, Sky Tower, and Aotea Centre are all within comfortable walking distance, and Wynyard Quarter`s celebrated North Wharf dining precinct — home to Baduzzi, Hello Beasty, Silo Park, and the Auckland Fish Market — is a short stroll west along the waterfront.

For a convenient grocery run, Countdown Metro supermarket is close by. The wharf`s own promenade is a wonderful place to walk in the early morning or evening when the tourist crowds have thinned, and the views from the end of Princes Wharf — looking back at the city skyline with the Harbour Bridge to the west — are genuinely spectacular at any time of day.

Auckland is easily explored from Princes Wharf. The city`s Inner Link and Outer Link buses connect the central suburbs frequently throughout the day, and Britomart Transport Centre is a 10-minute walk with trains connecting across the full Auckland network. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is steps away, with regular services to Waiheke Island, Devonport, and beyond. Uber and taxis are plentiful throughout the waterfront precinct at all hours. A secure car park is included with the apartment for those who prefer to drive — the motorway network is accessible for day trips further afield, and Auckland Airport is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car.
