About this property

Quentin's Cottage - a cosy retreat by Mt Owen - close to town and trails!

Relax by the fire in our beautifully restored miner’s cottage, circa 1900, surrounded by stunning West Coast mountains.

Just 1.8km from MTB trails and close to hiking, ancient rainforest, and Lake Burbury. Walk to art galleries, cafes, and bars and the iconic railway.

The Space
Quentin's Cottage is a peaceful retreat designed for unwinding and reconnecting, with each other and nature. Through the gallery hallway featuring original photographs, you are greeted by work from local photographer (owner of Empire Art Box).

There is a wood fire and new reverse cycle heater/air conditioning, a smart TV for streaming only/DVDs, small library, board games and an extensive DVD collection.

IMPORTANT: We do not have Wi-Fi or TV reception. You will need to hotspot the TV from your own device to use streaming services.

There are two queen sized bedrooms, and one double bedroom. The master has a new Ecosa memory foam mattress. All have bedding designed by Australian artists, electric blankets, heaters, luggage racks and hanging space.

The modern kitchen has a double oven, induction stove, new dishwasher and a unique copper benchtop-paying tribute to Queenstown’s mining heritage.

Extras
Washing machine, dryer and plant based laundry detergent are supplied free of charge, to refresh for your next adventure.

Guest Access
Sole access to the cottage. Key in lockbox, code provided before arrival.

Note
A cot is available on request at no extra cost—just let us know in advance so we can have it ready for you.

The fourth bedroom is closed to store cleaning products, linen and bathroom supplies.

Check-out instructions

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Check out is 10am. Please ask at least 48 hours before your stay if 10am is going to be too early.
Please return the house keys to the lock box at the front door.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Please remove your shoes at the front door. It can get pretty wet on the west coast, and no one likes muddy boots!
Our neighbours are pretty awesome so please keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 5am.
House keys: feel free to leave the keys in the lock box at the front door. It will save you a lost key fee if you misplace them!

Why they chose this property

Our family fell in love with Queenstown and the West Coast after passing through in 2019. We love the outdoors, hiking, biking, mountains and the arts - everything Queenstown has to offer!

What makes this property unique

Our property is a circa 1900 miners cottage built during the mining boom that put Queenstown on the world map. It was lovingly restored in 2022, uncovering original timbers floors and wall linings. Some of the wall linings have been left exposed as a nod to the home's history.
