Originally from Sydney, I’d long craved a slower, quieter way of living. I’ve always loved camping and those simple escapes into nature with just my dog for company — the calm, the fresh air, and the stillness that city life couldn’t offer.

Forest Creek Retreat began as a dream to create a place where others could experience that same sense of peace — a space to slow down, breathe deeply, and feel at home. After many years in healthcare, I wanted to offer something more personal and heart-led — a blend of comfort, care, and the gentle rhythm of the natural world.

Inspired by my many camping trips, I began searching for a piece of land of my own — somewhere peaceful, with a natural water source, close enough to shops and attractions yet far enough to feel secluded.

Originally from the coast, I’ve always been drawn to water, open skies, and the quiet presence of trees. When I discovered this property in Bunyah, nestled between forest and farmland, I knew I’d found the right place. It had everything I’d imagined — the soft sound of running water, wide open views, and a feeling of calm that seemed to settle over you the moment you arrived.

Forest Creek Retreat is a place built with intention — designed to feel peaceful, inclusive, and deeply connected to nature.

It wasn’t simply found; it was created from the ground up with calm, comfort, and accessibility in mind.

From there, Forest Creek Retreat grew into something truly meaningful — a place for others to experience the same stillness and connection I’d discovered here. Every part of it was designed with care: the calming tones inside the home, the gentle sound of the creek, and the soft light that filters through the trees.

Guests can enjoy the freshwater rockpool or unwind in the traditional woodfire sauna — a choice I made because nothing compares to the warmth and authenticity of a real woodfire sauna. For those who prefer a gentler heat, there’s also an infrared sauna on the balcony overlooking the valley’s spectacular sunsets.

Accessibility has been thoughtfully integrated throughout the property, with step-free access, wide doorways, and supportive equipment to ensure comfort for all guests. A pool hoist will soon be added, making the outdoor spaces even more inclusive.

Beyond the home, there are creek lines to explore, bush walks nearby, and open flats perfect for a picnic under a tree with a good book in hand. For those seeking deeper relaxation, massages and Breathwork sessions can be arranged on request.

Glamping tents are currently in progress, soon to offer guests a closer experience with nature — where luxury meets simplicity beneath the stars.
