Yurtopia on the Lake

Lakeside Cottage/Yurt Getaway

Welcome to your relaxing lakeside retreat! This spacious 707 sq. ft. cottage/yurt features an open-concept living room, dining area and full kitchen with 14 ft. ceilings and a beautiful skylight that fills the space with natural light.
At night, unwind in the cozy bedroom and stargaze as you fall asleep through the skylight overhead. A truly magical experience on clear evenings!
Stay comfortable year-round with a wood stove for those cool nights and a propane fire pit (safe to use even during fire restrictions).
Enjoy the convenience of a private boat launch (use at your own risk) and make the most of your stay, whether you’re fishing, water-skiing or simply exploring the lake. There is plenty of room to maneuver and park a trailer while the boat is in use, with 1.6 acres and 325 ft of waterfront.

The cottage/yurt comes fully equipped with:
-Full kitchen with dishwasher and microwave
-Private dock for swimming or relaxing by the water
-BBQ for outdoor cooking
-Wood stove
-Propane fire pit

We are currently taking Minimum five days bookings of for July and August. However, if you are interested in a shorter stay during June or September, please let us know! There is a good chance we can accommodate you

Just 3 km away, you’ll find Cedar Cove Resort, home to the Backcountry Bistro, offering a casual pub-style menu on weekends.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Place all used towels in the washer and start the cycle.
Pots: Please wash all pots and pans. Fire Safety: Ensure the outdoor propane fire pit is off. BBQ: Please ensure the grill has been burned clear of food residue. Turn off TV. Make sure stove is off.
Outdoor Area: Leave the grounds and outdoor furniture exactly as you found them.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

A very relaxing escape from the city. Lovely and serene surroundings. The yurt was comfortable and cozy, even on the day it rained all day. Very much enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful time at Yurtopia. The yurt was very clean, and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. From check in, throughout our stay to check out everything was very smooth. It was a great location right on the water. We will definitely look at staying here again. Thank you Bruce.

The cottage was very nice, clean and layout to maximize space. The lake view is very good.Lots of wildlife, birds and deer roaming around at dusk. All of the necessities are there and in good condition. I would recommend this one for others.Thank you

Don't let the idea of a Yurt discourage you from this property. This is a very modern and comfortable stay. Living room, full kitchen, separate bathroom and bedroom. Fully equipped with everything you could need, BBQ, wood stove, propane fire pit, etc. Very clean. Picturesque, quiet lake with dock for swimming, boating or catching the sun. (Shoreline is rocky so be sure to bring your beach shoes). Check in and out all went smoothly, host left instructions for mechanicals. Will definitely be back. Great place for a quiet relaxing getaway.

This place is a fantastic getaway for couples! Communication was great the yurt was spotless and well-appointed, and White Lake itself is beautiful. We even had the chance to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower on the dock overlooking the lake. And our dog was welcomed without a fuss, which we absolutely loved. This spot is especially great if you have a boat, kayak or canoe. Just keep in mind there's a decent amount of motorized boat traffic on the lake, especially on weekends.

My wife found it to be a perfect 10 out of 10. She always wanted to see what a Yurt was. As for me and my fur baby I would have to scale it back a bit due to no A/C. It was a beautiful interior and had all the comforts of home. The owner clearly went out of his way when designing the interior. However in the few days we reserved it for it definitely served it's purpose, extremely relaxing place to go to. Thank you for all your accommodations.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The yurt is cozy and well set up.20 minutes outside of Almonte. Honestly such a cool spot. If you're looking for somewhere to get out of the city for a bit without roughing it, 100% worth it.
