We had a wonderful stay. The location is absolutely unbeatable, being just a short walk from the beach made our holiday so enjoyable. The house itself was perfect for our family. It was spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a stress-free stay. The combination of such a beautiful home and its incredible proximity to the beach really made this place special. If you're looking for a family-friendly holiday home in a fantastic location, we highly recommend staying here. Thank you for a great stay Damien !

Hi Nadege,
We are glad you had a great stay, however, unfortunately we have to provide some negative feedback.
It was raised by our cleaner that someone had been sick in the bedrooms (presume excessive alcohol consumption), unmade beds had been slept on indicating undeclared guests had stayed and additional cleaning of linen was required for hygiene reasons. Furthermore a cologne of some sort was used to attempt to mask the smell of vomit which required extensive cleaning of the room to remove.
Additionally, and of our biggest concern, was the disregard of our no party house rule as reported by our very lovely neighbours. They reported that they were disturbed at all hours of the night (kicking a football against the shed) for your three night stay.
We hold our relationship with our neighbours in high regard and this is a deal breaker for any future stays with us.
Regards,
Damien and Alyce
We had a lovely time at the house. The weather was grey, misty and drippy but it didn’t matter - we were really comfortable and the house is much more spacious than the pictures indicate. Hearing the ocean at night and being able to pop out for a beach stroll with my morning cuppa was such a treat. Kitchen pleasingly well equipped too; better than many rentals.

Currently facing Mondayitis after an absolute peach of a weekend at Castaway on Cowley. Anyone looking for a family weekender on the Cassowary Coast - put this place on your list! We were a group of two families - four adults and four young kids. Plenty of room for all of us. The host (Damien) is warm and super accommodating. Communication was great the whole way through. The location is stunning. A short wander through the garden and down a shaded track to a really picturesque beach. Think Mission Beach in terms of scenery, but without any sign of development. The sense of quiet solitude was exactly what we were after. It felt like a proper switch-off and a great opportunity for the kids to get their hands dirty and explore nature. If you’ve got a boat, the nearby Barnard Islands are an amazing bonus to explore. The house itself is really well set up—we never felt like we were missing anything.Would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend!
