Overall the cabin is nice, however, the hot tub and the jacuzzi tub doesn’t work. We notified the property and they said that they would send someone out to fix it and they never showed up. We have called 4 times and cannot get a response from the property maintenance. We payed a lot of money for the weekend getaway to have the amenities not work. We’re very upset with the service that was not given.

Weekend trip
The rental process was okay. I wasn’t crazy about having to download a separate app to find checkout procedures. Communication was all over the place; there were emails, texts, and apps; it became a bit confusing to remember where you’d seen what code or set of instructions. And once again with email and text, why am I forced to download an app? The location was fine, but had I known it was in one of those small areas off Wears Valley Road, I wouldn’t have booked. At one point I didn’t think the truck would make it past some of the cars of the renters in the other cabins. The cabin itself was fine. It’s a bit cluttered with furniture. And could’ve used a cobweb sweeping, but it was clean and comfortable.

The Mountains are Calling!
Great location between Pigeon Forge and Wears Valley. This made getting around easier than being on The Parkway. A lot of traffic noise can be heard from the cabin during the day (outdoors only, not indoors). The house is spacious and the beds are comfortable. The furniture is big and comfortable but there’s a bit too much of it. We had a smaller party so it felt claustrophobic but I’m sure it comes in handy for extra guests. The linens could use replacing as the towels are rough and the sheets a bit thin. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishes/silverware. We didn’t prepare our meals while there but I easily could have. There is a washer/dryer unit downstairs. A couple of times the washer didn’t complete the cycle and the clothes were still very wet. But I just washed again and it washed properly. Also, the toilet needs repair on the lower level. The water pressure would get weak at random times and no one could shower in the upper level bathroom. A big frustration was that there was no Internet for the whole week we were there. I looked forward to relaxing in the evenings and catching up on some TV watching. Also, our kids were still in school and needed wifi to submit assignments. The property manager refunded us a portion of our stay as compensation which was appreciated. If wifi is important to you, call ahead before booking to see if the owner got the situation worked out. Of note, there are several other “Keaton’s” cabins in that area. Good for a reunion! We enjoyed hiking right around the cabin. There’s a nice stream that runs around. We also had a full size bear check us out while we were in the hot tub just after dark! Overall, this is a good cabin which is need of a few updates/repairs. I wouldn’t pay $450/night as it didn’t have enough luxuries, in my opinion. We got it for much less making it a great bargain and a comfortable stay.

We over all had a good stay. The hot tub jets only worked on one side even after maintenence checked it. The jets that did work had minimal power to them. We had to keep switching seats so everyone to get a turn on the one side where the keys worked. Other than that we had a good stay.
