Took my family to the mountains for Mothers Day! I loved sitting by the fire pit and looking at the stars at night. Comfortable home, close to McCall! Loved it!
The house was wonderful. Clean, easy access, everything required for a stay away. Johnathan Frost Management Company definitely have it together. It was my second time staying in one of their properties and from check-in to check out, it couldn't be easier and without an excessive amount of texts and e-mails. Kudos to their group.
My mom and I stayed here for three nights with my two dogs. The home is close to everything yet still in a very quiet neighborhood. The beds we’re comfortable, furniture was nice and having access to the whole home and garage was a great bonus. It was clean but not spotless and there were a few issues (no working outlets in the bathrooms and toilet functionality issues) that we made the property manager aware of.
Four old guys needed a place to stay for our fishing trip. The house was perfect for our needs. We did end up rolling up the two rugs in the kitchen and put them in the pantry. They kept snagging our feet. Bifocals probably didn't help either 😅
All in all, this is a super cute spot with a great location. The communication and customer service with the property manager was efficient and smooth, but there were a few things we wish could have gone better.
-Note: There is no AC in this house, and in the summer it was not ideal. That was an oversight on our end in booking.
-The master toilet could only be used every 15 minutes or so because the take refilled so slowly. Notified property manager and they said it was a supply issue.
-There was a cleanliness issue in the master as well, notified property manager as we checked out and they said they would take care of it before the next guest.
-The oven wasn’t working consistently. Wouldn’t stay hot long enough to cook at the same temperature.
-The brush around the fire pit should have been cleared a bit better so we could have a fire responsibly (this might be on the neighbors’ responsibility) but still a perk of the house we wish we could have utilized to make s’mores for my nieces, just didn’t want to risk it in the dry heat with the brush.
Again, a great location and the potential to be the perfect stay but many things weren’t ideal for a summer trip. Probably a great spot in the winter!

Kathryn- I’m glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. I'm surprised to hear you didn't notice the a/c unit in the central area. It is quiet, but it is hard to miss a 12,000 BTU portable air conditioner, especially since we left it at a cool temperature and running for you just prior to your arrival. The remote temperature monitoring system shows that the cabin didn’t rise above 72 degrees, even though it was 97 outside during one of the days you stayed.
Maintenance timed the refill on the master bathroom toilet and it consistently took just under 3 minutes to refill, which is slower than the guest bathroom toilet, but certainly not 15 minutes. The toilet valve was replaced in May and it didn’t help it speed up. We were advised by the plumber that the cost to upgrade the plumbing to that toilet would not be worth what would be gained.
We also tested the oven with a digital thermostat and noticed that once the temperature reached 350, it stayed consistent (+/- 5 degrees) over the course of an hour. The cabin has a standard electric oven, and is relatively straightforward to use. Perhaps you were using the timer mode, but we could not find any problems with it.
Lastly, regarding the firepit- it is in the middle-rear of the back lawn surrounded by 2 feet of brick pavers. The surrounding lawn is watered frequently (nightly at this time of the year). We don’t maintain the neighbor’s property, but some common sense is expected. A huge bon fire would be unwise. The diameter and size of the fire pit would lend a reasonable person to understand that a bonfire would not be appropriate. If guests use the fire pit, it is their duty to be fire-wise and responsible.
I realize this response is mostly for future guests, so they understand the truth about this beautiful cabin.
Sincerely,
Jonathan
Overall this is a very nice house for the money! It was well appointed and had everything we needed. One thing to keep in mind is that it has NO air conditioning, now I know it was my mistake as I did not check to see if the house has cool air conditioning, not the hosts. If it is over 80 degrees in the summer, the house will get just as hot…if not hotter until the sun goes down.
Highly recommend, clean and well stocked.
Communication with property management is just a text away.

Donnelly is a “Wanna Be”
The property was very clean. It has a nice fire pit in back and for a ‘resort’, not a lot of neighbors, but there was construction, every single day except the weekends, “right next-door” to my bedroom, where I was trying to sleep. It’s a beautiful property, but more space than I needed for a single person, and the town is a ‘one horse town’, not much activity, not much to do. >>Went on a great hike to Blue Lake<<. I would recommend that!!
Beautiful and peaceful…would have liked to have shared with our whole family.
Very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed our morning coffee on the lovely back deck. Unfortunately the listing said pets welcome and failed to state that there were limitations. Only after we had payed the non refundable rental fee were we told only dogs under 20 pounds Appreciate they did reimburse our per deposit.
We had a fantastic visit to Donnelly/ McCall area for the 4th Of July holiday, and this home was perfect for the family. The house is spacious and well equipped.
We had a special visitor on the second day as an American Eagle decided to spend some of the morning on the top of the tree in the backyard. They say spotting an eagle is good luck, so I’d say our choice of home was great 😃!
