About this property

115 feet of Frio river front property, prime tubing area, only 3 miles north of Garner State Park. Full kitchen inside, wood and propane grills outside. The two stories of living area are built, stilted above the various patios and picnic tables below. Amazing views from the vaulted porches, both front and back. Cozy fire pit in the back yard next to lighted horse shoe pits and washers for outdoor evening fun. Outdoor private walk-in shower for 2 for those hot days, outside 1/2 bath for added convenience. All the modern technology to stay connected and streaming ready TV. A nice getaway for the family and friends.

Bird sightings along the river here: Kestrel, Owl, Swallows, Green kingfisher, Belted kingfisher, Vermillion fly-catcher, Green Jay and more.

Labor day weekend

Cabin is right by the river and is very clean and spacious. Unfortunately the river was not running but we had plenty of fun at the cabin. Definitely recommend and we will be returning.

Prime Location

The loacation of the cabin was great! Really close to Garner and the outher towns. The creek was clear and cool and came up to the my waist our kids had a great time swimming in there when we where at the cabin. The grill was great for smoking and i was a great shady place to relax while i grilled. There where plenty of bathrooms for all of us 6 adults and 4 children. The house was clean and comfy. Would definitely recommend!

My husband and I purchased this unique property in Rio Frio for it's rustic look, beautiful views and wonderful location to nearby attractions and towns such as Leakey and Utopia. The property is located to one of the most popular tubing routes on the Frio. Casa Rio Frio is a special place to us and we hope guests enjoy it as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

The property is perfect for a family getaway due to it's location on the Frio and near area local attractions such as Garner State Park. Casa Rio Frio has beautiful views, firepit (perfect for roasting marshmallows), grills, games, all the comforts of home at this unique and spacious property. As a host, I like to keep our guests informed of local attractions and events in the area by providing a guide book located in the living room and flyers posted on the fridge. That way whether new visitors or returning visitors are always informed about what our area has to offer. We also are known for Casa Rio Frio as being a cozy and clean place to stay.
This property is not only popular in the Spring/Summer but also for the Fall. We are about 40 minutes away from Lost Maples State Park which tends to have beautiful Fall colors. Additionally, the cypress trees along the Frio tend to also boast pretty colors in the Fall. A picturesque setting for a picnic or taking in the views at the property.
Also, Rio Frio will be one of the main areas for the upcoming Annular Solar Eclipse on October. 14, 2023 and for the Solar Eclipse on April. 8, 2024. Glasses will be provided. Please note viewing will depend on weather.
