Disliked: Communication

Didn’t get to stay there, there were two vehicles when I arrived, with someone in the cottage peering out the blinds. I didn’t approach and they didn’t come out. I called owner from driveway and she initially claimed her brother parks there, and that there shouldn’t be anyone inside. I left to find other lodging in the next town down the freeway, close but not near the lake, the rally was at the lake. I reported it to Expedia and VRBO, there’s an investigation on going and I was promised a refund, per owner but no apologies ( virtual agent did) beware the little red lake cottage at Somerville !!👎

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy

Owner unresponsive and canceled stay after check in

We booked 11/8 for Thanksgiving to be able to be close to family and have our dogs. My account was charged for the stay and I received a confirmation number. After the owner being unresponsive, I contacted customer service on the day we were supposed to arrive. We arrived at the property and another couple was there, as the owner double booked and did not bother to inform us. The owner canceled our reservation after check in time after being contacted by Vrbo. We had to drive back to Houston as we had no place to stay. Owner is unreliable. Have a back up plan if you book here.
