Lovely Property in Charming Unkel
Well furnished, roomy, with attractive artwork throughout the home and convenient to walk into Unkel for restaurants, and sightseeing. Very comfortable as a headquarters for a family and friends reunion. The large kitchen is a great gathering place! You do need a car to get around, and to get to the grocery stores which are not within walking distance. There is a train in Unkel, so public transport to the airport is possible.
For visitors from abroad, note that the property is set up for German guests, who normally bring their own linens, so towels and bedding are charged separately per person. Beds are comfortable, back yard is lovely, bikes are there for use ( we didn’t use them) and the loft with twin beds is charming, but not recommended for older guests since the steps are steep!
Note if you are paying via a USA credit card, the owner’s bank passes on conversion charges. Not a big issue, just something to be aware of. The host is responsive to queries, and
although they were on vacation, and not available to show us around, the designated “ welcomer” Brigitte was great.
We would stay here again if we were to return to the Rhineland.
