Quiet retreat
We stayed here for a month this year and were so pleased we did. The location is perfect. 15 minutes from downtown St Pete, St Pete beach and also Pass-A-Grill. When you sit out front m, you overlook a beautiful waterway that comes in from the bay. It’s quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The hosts are very accommodating and we enjoyed getting to know them. Everyone was friendly in the neighborhood too. We will definitely return.

Relaxing stay with a view
Small but everything you need. Fully equipped kitchen allowed us to have as many meals in as we wanted. We enjoyed the chairs outside so we could watch hockey on the TV in the bedroom outside in the sun! It was a great set up. Not enough space to invite friends over. Lovely quiet neighborhood with a fantastic “south side” coffee shop a few blocks away. Great hosts who invited us over for New Year’s Day celebration. Not a good spot if you don’t have a car.

Beautiful Bayou Shores - best VRBO rental experience ever!
My husband and I spent a full month here at this beautiful Bayou Shores Waterfront retreat. We loved our morning ritual of sipping coffee out front as we watched tropical birds walk by, dolphins swimming in the Bayou, and hearing the heartfelt sound of birds singing. The location was great! We were within biking distance of beautiful downtown St Pete and looked forward to our daily bike ride to the St Pete waterfront. Our rental unit was extremely clean, very tastefully decorated, and so nice to come home to at the end of each day. Don and Lynette are fantastic hosts! They were so welcoming and were always available if we had any questions. We have rented lots of VRBO rentals but this by far was our best experience! We would highly recommend this rental to everyone!

Manatee musings
So much good about the Manatee House where we stayed 2 weeks in February. Our lower level area was clean and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen; around the side is the common laundry room. Sunrises were just outside our front door and bedroom window gazing across Bayou Bonita. Sunsets can be enjoyed from the Bay Vista park pier a convenient 5 minute drive south on 4th. Five minutes northbound gets all the culture and entertainment of downtown St Pete. If you, like us, are into laid-back beach sunsets and entertainment, it's hard to beat nearby Gulfport and Pass-a-Grill beaches. Don and Lynette were great hosts, inviting us to the Superbowl party at their dock and fire pit, and checking regularly that we had what we needed. When asked they always had solid recommendations for entertainment and sightseeing. If we had to pick faults, they seem fairly minor. Being next to the laundry room, we can hear the machines if they're running. We could hear footsteps of the guest upstairs occasionally. We enjoyed the rainfall shower head, but would have enjoyed having a handheld sprayer as well. Summary: the Manatee House is on our 'return list' for our next Florida tour.

We love living in St. Pete and are eager to share the great amenities of the city with you - whether you're looking for a special dinner out, insights into great tours, or information about the many museums the city has, we are here to help!

Why they chose this property

The “Manatee” is a spacious one-bedroom apartment featuring a king-sized bed. The bathroom was completely remodeled this year and features an amazing "rainshower" shower head.
With a fully equipped kitchen, you can easily enjoy meals at home or make a cup of coffee and enjoy the beauty of the water from your private patio.

What makes this property unique

You don’t have to leave the property for fun in the sun! We proudly offer watersport amenities including paddleboard and kayak rentals. Once you’ve had your fill of the Florida sun, you’re just a 10-minute car ride or 20-minute bicycle ride to downtown St. Pete. There you can take in the many museums the area has to offer, see artists at work, enjoy an outdoor lunch at a local restaurant, take a walking or biking tour of the beautiful outdoor murals St. Pete is known for, or simply stroll the waterfront. We’re also conveniently located to St. Pete Beach and Pass-A-Grille if you prefer to spend the day on the beach.

If sports are your thing, St. Petersburg is home to the Tampa Bay Rays and are just across the bridge from the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey.

And if you’re visiting for the arts, you’re in luck. There are many concerts and live entertainment available at The Mahaffey Theater, The Palladium, The Colosseum, and Janis Landing as well as many of St. Petersburg’s local bars and restaurants.

Your hosts are pleased to make restaurant and entertainment recommendations to you, upon request.
