Welcome to our family cottage. We love this quiet house with the wide views out the windows. The front of the house faces south and receives ample sunshine. The back door opens onto a deck where we like to drink our morning coffee and watch for deer, turkey, and the occasional fox. On clear nights, the back deck turns into stargazing central.
There are two queen beds, one in each bedroom. Two single hideaway beds are tucked into the storage space, and a pack-n-play.

Cozy little place set on a quiet hill. Lightning bugs galore on June nights. Close to a number of cafes and restaurants in Apollo, Vandergrift and Leechburg. Was a convenient location for a wedding at a nearby farm venue. While it was a bit hot and muggy for June, the AC provided a nice respite. Remember if you’re coming from the city, this is in the country, so you may find yourself getting to know a few more bugs than usual. Just be prepared if the kiddos have any allergies; the bugs are pretty harmless but you may need to shoo a few away.
The place is rustic which is fine, especially for the very reasonable price. To say it sleeps 6 is a stretch, that assumes 4 people sharing 2 queen beds and 2 people on cots. To be fair, the description states this in advance. The biggest challenge we had was with the air conditioning - this was summer but not any extreme heat, and the upstairs where the bedrooms are was like an oven. AC was running and downstairs was freezing but upstairs never cooled much even after sun went down. Otherwise a fun little place in a rural setting.
Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing. The home was warm, cozy, clean and well stocked with essentials. We enjoyed the views of snow on mountain/hills as well as several deer. The home provided us with much needed restful nights. Our host was readily available and responsive to our needs. We would love to come back in the future.
Home was just as described- Owner was nice enough to leave a book containing all information needed and each bed provided several pillows- We will be looking to stay here again.
Although old, the house is sparkling clean and the grounds are well kept. Cozy furniture, good wifi. Bring a fan for the upstairs if staying during warm months.
My husband, uncle and I stayed the weekend while visiting the area. Very quiet and peaceful place! Communication with Marion was great regarding a small issue we encountered and the situation was remedied very quickly. Place was clean, well-stocked, and just as advertised. Would definitely stay again!
Very secluded area. Pleasant and peaceful surroundings. Enjoyed a brilliant meteor shower during our stay also which we could never do from home. Very clean.
This is our second stay here at the Country Cottage, and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. Both times were for weekends with extended family in the area, and the house and location are perfect for us. The house had all of the amenities needed. The hosts go above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable and comfortable stay! We'll be back.
Warm and forthcoming hosts focused on client cofort and satisfaction. Spacious, well appointed house on large estate which invites roaming and hiking. Altogether an excellent choice.
The house is tucked away in the woods up a long private driveway. Our stay was at the peak of the fall foliage. Absolutely gorgeous colors in the surrounding trees. Our stay was very quiet and relaxing, just what we were hoping for. The house is quaint, comfortable and presents an atmosphere perfect for a retreat. Thanks for a great stay and we look forward to booking here again!
Place was quiet and secluded, very nice option if you are looking to get away from civilization. You are about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh. Some of the surrounding roads are gravel and some are a little steep. The place was clean and everything was as expected. Be prepared to see a few stinkbugs or dead wasps in the house, which is normal for a heavily wooded area. You will enjoy your stay here.
