You have just discovered paradise. This stunning villa is directly on Casona Beach a few minutes north of Mahahual and near Uvero Beach with no neighbors to infringe on your privacy. It is one of the newest rental houses available and is built to the highest standards. Designed for relaxation, fun, and privacy, it is a tropical Caribbean getaway for couples, families, large parties. This small boutique resort is only minutes from Mayan ruins, cenotes, great scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, ziplines, a water park, great restaurants, and so much more.

Sleeping: The villa has two master bedrooms upstairs ideal for two people each, and it has two bedrooms downstairs, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. It will sleep eight people comfortably. It has top quality mattresses and bedding, including 100% down pillows that will be some of the best you have ever felt!

Telecom: The villas has internet available by microwave antenna at a tested speed of 5 MbPS. The WiFi is suitable for streaming TV programs and movies in 1080p. We have Apple HomePods throughout the house so you can play your favorite music. There is WiFi internet at our villa with 7 WiFi access points to ensure strong signals everywhere. The signal is as fast as anywhere on the Costa Maya, often excellent, but it can suffer in certain weather conditions. There is NO cell service at the villa due to the remote location, but you can still make VoIP calls using WhatsApp, Skype, Viber, Facebook Messenger, and similar apps.

Water: The villa is 100% off grid, so that means all the water comes from a rainwater catchment system supplemented by bringing in water by truck. The water is stored in a 35,000 liter cistern underneath the house and two water chlorination tanks of 1,100 liters each. The system is designed to last about 30 days with no refills. To protect the plumbing and make your showers more relaxing we have a whole-house water softener installed. To avoid interruptions please conserve the water. The kitchen also has a water cooler with 20 liter water bottles for drinking.

Waste Water: The villa has separate systems to process gray water and black water. It has a biodigestor to decompose organic material with bacteria in an anaerobic environment, and two MUTAR 16 sewage treatment systems.

Electricity: The electrical system alone was a $40,000 investment and includes:
18 solar panels of 375 watts
12 deep cycle batteries
One inverter charger
Two solar controllers
Perkins 20kw sound enclosed generator with additional 300 liter external diesel tank
On a sunny day the system should be able to power two of the air conditioners all night before the generator starts. All lighting is LED to conserve electricity, and the air conditioners and refrigerator are linear inverter type to be more energy efficient.Air conditioning: Each bedroom has a mini-split inverter style air conditioning unit with an energy saving linear compressor. If you need to use the AC to sleep in the hotter months the solar electrical system will power up to two ACs, and the generator will start if needed to power the others. There are three AC units in the kitchen and living room area. There are also dehumidifiers in the laundry room, kitchen, and each bedroom.

Outdoor shower: There is an outdoor shower and faucet to clean off sand before entering the villa.

Other: Large palapa on the beach, hammocks, beach lounges, full kitchen. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, electric juicer, expresso machine, microwave/ air fryer/ convection oven, gas range / oven, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, blender, tea kettle, toaster, water cooler with the 20 liter water bottles, dishes, silverware, paper towels, napkins, dish drying rack, pots and pans, fire extinguisher, etc.

Worst Stay Ever!
From the moment we arrived at this house, I noticed that my request to covered the security cameras was not performed, which the owner agreed to do. At our arrival I also discovered that two bedrooms did not have working light bulbs, a third bedroom’s ceiling fan was broken. The master bedroom, kitchen, and the 1st floor’s den, all had broken A/C units. The 2nd floor’s den did not have any A/C, so it felt like a sauna. On the second day, water ran out, so we couldn’t take showers, use toilets, wash dishes, etc. On the fourth day, water finally was delivered, So, we had no water two days out of our five day stay. Greg (the owner) mentions his property is off-the-grid and brags about the house being self-sufficient and high-tech. Well, it is true that the house is off-the-grid, however, the rest is totally untrue! Everything in the house is either broken, malfunctioning or out of service. Kitchenware is old or rusted. Also, only on the 1st day out of our five day stay, the house had electricity, but partially because it glitched non-stop. Because of the lack of electricity, we left during the day, which meant having to drive at least 100 kilometers daily to get to any place where we could have a more comfortable stay. However, at night, we had no choice but to come back and spend miserable nights sleeping downstairs on the den’s couches, lawn chairs and even the floor. The $30,000 solar panels Greg brags about, is all propaganda, because nothing works including the backup generator that supposedly can power the house at night. The pool is 4 x 6 feet at the most, perfect for the groundskeepers’ three dogs that use it daily to cool themselves down. Beware that the mandatory cleaning service charge is unwarranted because cleaning was never performed. No housekeeping whatsoever was ever done during our stay, not even the garbage was taken out. As for the WIFI, forget it. It never worked! The owner was kept informed about all issue. However, he denied the lack of water in the property and never acknowledged the electrical issues. To prove it, a video was made and sent to Greg. However, Greg never replied and simply ignored our messages. No photos of this property’s beach are provided purposely because of the overwhelming sargasso covering the entire beach, as well as mosquitos and other bugs infestation over and under the sargasso. The sargasso is not the property owner’s fault, however, it should at least be disclosed, not hidden.

Stunning home perfect for friend/family gatherings
We had a amazing time staying at this property! The house design is incredible for multiple friend/family groups. There is plenty of space to have some alone time and there are perfect spaces for gatherings. The pool was perfect for the kids and they spent most for their time playing there. The kitchen is large and open so it was easy to watch the kids in the pool, chat with other, and prepare food all at the same time. Overall, this is an amazing property and we had a fabulous time staying there.

Beautiful
Beautiful home and well stocked with everything you need for a week of relaxing. The pool was our standout for this property. It is wonderful. The beach is beautiful and Uvero is known for being in a calm bay so you can snorkel and kayak. The beds are comfortable. This is lovely home. I would have to be honest and say the only thing that could have made our stay better was better communication with our caretakers. Understandably during Covid ,they were unsure to enter the house and clean etc. Although, anything we needed or concerns we had, I emailed Greg, the owner, and he was on the spot on top of it. He would communicate for us. But as for having caretakers that would prepare food etc, they will, but it required us to go through Greg and we did not want to bother him that much. The language barrier, no fault to them. We should have better Spanish skills with as much time as we spend down there. Overall wonderful stay, perfect location for adventures and fishing.. We will be back. Thank you Greg.

I have always had a dream of spending half my time in a beach house and half on a remote property in the Rocky Mountains. This house is part of my dream.

What makes this property unique

If you like a place that is remote, where you can be on the beach and not see other people, then this house is for you. If you want nightlife and parties then it won't be a good fit. This location is ideal for SCUBA diving the world's second largest barrier reef and for deep sea fishing. You can even spearfish right in front of the house!
