We had an amazing stay at this Lake Martin lake house with two other families! The home was perfect for our group. It was spacious, clean, and comfortably set up for both kids and adults. The large yard gave the kids plenty of room to run and play, and they spent hours kayaking, swimming, and jumping off the dock.We loved the peaceful, secluded setting with beautiful lake views, while still being just a quick drive from conveniences like Dollar General. Renting a boat from nearby Kowaliga Marina was super easy and added even more fun to our days on the water. Rent a tube, go find the rope swings and don't forget to jump from Chimney Rock. If hiking is your thing, Cherokee Alpine Trail and Chimney Rock loop are nearby as well. We also enjoyed meals at Fanny Goldmine and Miller’s on Broadnax, both had great food and quick, friendly service. We’re already talking about our next trip back. Highly recommend for a fun, relaxing family getaway!
We enjoyed our Spring Break at this wonderful home. Two families, 4 kids (ages 4-8), and it was perfect! Games, movies, and Foosball on the one rainy day and many hours of outside play, fires, and breathtaking sunrises. We cannot wait to visit again!
We had the best family vacation at this house! The yard and dock were so kid friendly! We loved the fir pit for S’mores and the kids enjoyed the “movie theatre” and games!! Would love to visit again!
Property is beautiful, and fit our group perfectly. Location on the water is great, and the “pet” ducks were a hit with the younger kids. It is very secluded however, so if you’re looking for other things to do in the area when you aren’t on a boat or in the water, this is NOT the place for you. Also, check restaurant availability through the week. We ended up eating at Niffers three of the nights of our stay because we had no other options that were open during the week near us. The outdoor tv that was mentioned in the listing was not present, and many of the chairs on the back deck were broken, but nothing a few camp chairs out of our car couldn’t fix! Overall, it was a nice relaxing stay!
This home is beautiful and inviting. Eight adults fit easily with plenty of room to spare. Outdoor space is amazing. Kayaks were available for use. No hand towels or kitchen towels as mentioned in a previous review. Minor repairs needed which were mentioned to the home owner, but nothing that interfered with the enjoyment of our stay.
The home was perfect for our group of 11 (even had extra room). There are some a few things that need a little of attention on the property, nothing major. Our family had a fantastic time on the lake.
I didn't think the property could possibly be as wonderful as the pictures showed, but it was. Great location and amenities. We enjoyed casting a bit with grandkids, smores at the fire pit, grilling steaks outside while kids ran and tumbled around in the large sloping yard. The accommodations were spacious, and of course the game room/movie room was a big hit. Hope to be back sometime!

So many issues, but a great lake
I am reviewing this whole experience as a guest and a property owner/manager of multiple vacation rentals.
All of these issues have been discussed with the owner/manager...I'm assuming he is still "researching the issue"? He mentioned refunding one night, but I haven't heard from him.
On a positive note, the home has a great back patio area, outdoor kitchen, game room and a beautiful view!
Hopefully these issues will be handled before the next guest arrives...
1. I gave 2 stars to the accuracy of the listing because he gives no information to how many beds are in the house. The listing says 1 bed with 5 bedrooms. More information needs to be added about the entire house. That takes time, but it's an easy fix.
2. Walking into the home, we were welcomed by lots of spiderwebs covering the door. It must have been quite some time since cleaning crew had cleaned. We walked to the back porch to have more spiderwebs covering doorways and stairways. We had to wipe down the kitchen counter because of the dust that had accumulated.
3. My friend took a shower in the dark because the majority of the light bulbs were out in his bathroom...multiple lights were out throughout the house.
4. Speaking of baths...be prepared to bring your own SOAP. Don't expect him to furnish soap, much less shampoo or any Kleenex or anything "extra". Also, bring your own towels, because you only get a couple in each bath and they are paper-thin.
5. There are only 2 tv's inside this large home. The den and the game room. Some people enjoy watching tv in their room..can't do that here..no tv's in the bedrooms. This is SEC Country..we come to watch football games, but if you don't subscribe to a streaming subscription with ESPN, you won't be watching any SEC games here because it is ROKU streaming only.
On a positive note: there are 2 kayak's available for guest use.
My family and I stayed here and it truly was amazing. It was very clean, comfortable, and accommodating. It has 2 washers and dryers which is great for such a large group. The kitchen is a bit small but we managed. The outdoor space was incredible - gas fire pit, boat house for a pontoon rental, kayaks! The house was a great proximity for the jumping rocks, Chucks, and more! I would definitely stay here again.
The only two suggestions I would recommend is that the owners put more towels/wash clothes in each bathroom. Also we did not have any hand towels. The other suggestion is to have more serving utensils as well as cooking sheets. I didn’t see any while we were there.
This property is well kept and fully stocked with entertainment that will enhance your stay at Lake Martin. We enjoyed the ping pong table, outdoor seating, and kayaking the most. We felt very comfortable and welcome in this home. We will be back!
This home is a wonderful property for family or friend groups. House is very nicely furnished - plenty of in home activities - games, books, movies, ping pong table, game table, well stocked kitchen and the list goes on!! Located in a nice quiet slough.
Excellent location. Beautiful property. We had problems with the air conditioning our first night there but we contacted the owner and he sent someone out and fixed it immediately. Brandon was awesome and we would be happy to stay again and again.
