Monique is a very friendly landlord. The vacation home or castle is located in a quiet and “hidden” spot in a rural area, but only 5 km from the sea. The nearest shopping facilities are only a 5-minute drive away. The cottage dates back to the 16th century and exudes a medieval charm. During the renovation, great care was taken to ensure that this was not destroyed. When we arrived, the house was very well prepared for us. The furnishings are practical and fit well with the style of the house. We felt very comfortable. We were two people, but this house would also be suitable for a vacation with 4-5 people.

Wonderfully peaceful and relaxing stay

This gîte, converted from the cider pressing room of the ancient manor house of La Hougue, is full of history and charm. It is really peaceful - a kilometre from the nearest through road, with dark skies and a beautiful canopy of stars. The facilities are rustic and comfortable, with everything needed for a self-catering break away from it all.

Country charm in Normandy

We used this as our base for visiting the Normandy Beaches and St Mere Eglise. It met all our needs for s family of 4. Monique is a very nice host and greeted us upon arrival. Coming from the U.S. the only aspect that took some getting use to was disposing dirty toilet paper into a garbage can. But then again this is a 500+ year old estate, there was plenty of modern amenities that allowed for us to cook dinners i stead of eating out every night. Utah Beach, St Mere Église and Carentan are all a short 20-25 minute drive.

Sehr ruhig gelegen und freundliche Gastgeberin. Das Haus ist schön eingerichtet. Leider waren überall Spinnenweben und auch Insekten. Die Toilette war für uns ungewöhnlich, da das benutzte Papier in Müllbeutel entsorgt werden musste. Auch ein Geländer an der Treppe nach oben wäre empfehlenswert, da man recht leicht abrutschen kann! Das Haus war wie erwartet etwas abgelegen, aber innerhalb von ein paar wenigen Kilometern konnte man alles finden, was man benötigt!

Accueil et gîte magnifique !

Nous avons loué le gîte du manoir de la Hougue pour une petite semaine de détente dans le Cotentin. L’endroit est superbe et la dépendance a été absolument parfaite pour notre groupe de 3 personnes. Le logement est bien équipé et isolé de la « chaleur », même si nous avons eu une météo mitigée! Monique, la propriétaire, a été très disponible et à l’écoute, merci encore pour votre accueil ! Concernant la mocalisation, le anoir est situé au milieu de « nulle part », comptez une vingtaine de minutes en voiture pour Saint Vaast La Hougue et les premiers commerces. Autre petit point, le réseau ne passe pas mais il y a de la WIFI au gîte. Merci encore pour tout et nous n’hésiterons pas à revenir et à recommander le lieu à nos connaissances :) Alexandrine, Raoul et Benjamin.

Un moment atypique agreable

Un ancien cellier adossé à un manoir dans la campagne normande, pas très facile à trouver . La déco est un peu spéciale typee marocaine, nous avons beaucoup apprécié le poêle et son côté cosy. Nous recherchions le calme et le côté atypique cosy donc très bien. La propriétaire nous a gentiment prêté le linge de toilette que nous avions oublié .

Bon et agréable séjour

Bon séjour, bel environnement, propriétaire au top. Juste un bémol... Un lit 2 personnes c'est pas deux lits 1 personne que l'on rassemble avec un draps house, c'est un vrai sommier 140*190 avec un seul matelas de même taille ( Oui j ai très mal dormi ) c'est très dommage car le reste était nikel. Malgré cela je recommande fortement ce séjour.
