A Mixed Bag

There are some definite positives and negatives about this place. First the positives - having been a number of times to Paris I enjoyed the location. This is a quiet, residential neighbourhood in close proximity to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. though it is well away from the centre. The building has lovely gardens and the back garden for the unit is also cute - though also cluttered with cleaning supplies piled back there. Mawan was friendly and professional at check-in but then mostly unreachable later. Cleaning and preparation of the unit itself was haphazard. -The coffee machine does not function, which was a nasty surprise and the host did not respond to our note about this. -No soap. No kitchen towel (we found a dirty one balled up in one of the drawers but it was not useable). One roll of toilet paper for 3 guests for 5 days. -There were linens - clean and dirty - piled randomly in the closets and drawers. Our own linens came in a sack and there were not enough pillows for the three of us. -the handles on the garden doors fall right off when you touch them. -Dishes were dirty. no drying rack for them. -there was a floor mat rolled up and stuffed behind the couch with some cushions. -we had to vacuum the floor and clear many cobwebs after we arrived. -The projector, we were told, did not work and did not have any cords to connect it with our devices. But, we were able to get it working and also found a cord. Not an easy setup but doable.

Nice apartment, bring a sleeping bag

It is a nice cosy studio, clean and in a nice neighbourhood very close to the park Butte Chaumont. However, it is advisable to bring a sleeping bag and towels just in case no clean sheets are prepared and new sheets are not brought in time, as happened to us.

great location

the apartment was nearby a park, metro stations, restaurants, and stores. We were able to take a short walk to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night. I loved the cute garden in the back of the apartment, ir was nicely renovated, and I loved the style of the bathroom.

nice place, frustrating check-in

We were already in Paris, so day before check-in, I called Marwan, He sent a text saying "stop call me; text me." so we texted then. I told him of our expected arrival time by Uber the next day. When we got to 38 Rue Fessart, there was no one there to let us in. The gardener saw us through the glass door and came to say she wasn't responsible for the apartment. Finally, our Uber driver called Marwan and said to him quite firmly that he had two "mesdames" who needed to get checked in. After about 10 minutes, Marwan appeared and took us to the apartment where the cleaning lady had just started cleaning the apartment -- this was well after 5 p.m., when the check-in was supposed to be available by 3 p.m. He said it was because the previous tenants had not left on time...? While there, Marwan was cordial and showed us how the keys, etc worked, and the week there went okay. The little garden was lovely. We brought inside the little garden table because as a previous reviewer mentioned, THERE WAS NO TABLE NOR CHAIRS inside the apartment, even though there was plenty of room for them. The bed was comfortable, but a bit hard to climb into up the little steps. The towel warmer in the bathroom was wonderful and welcome. The kitchen was convenient even though we did not cook. The fridge kept our snacks and drinks cold.. The location was close to the Buttes Chaumont metro stop, TIP: when you enter look for the ELEVATOR; otherwise its 4 LONG flights of stairs down to train

Poor management ruined a nice place

We waited outside for 30 minutes for person with key, who explained nothing, including where wifi code was. The flat had modern equipment, but very badly maintained and poorly equipped. The new looking coffee machine was broken, but here were no cups anyway. The ventilation had not been maintained so was very, very noisy and we couldn’t turn it off. The one radiator leaked and the heated towel rail didn’t work so we were cold. There was a modern oven but no dishes to put in it. No flat plates, and the bar stools were so low you had to eat at the height of your nose (there was no table or chairs despite having space for them). And the carpet was absolutely filthy. What should have been a lovely comfortable and quiet flat ended up as noisy and uncomfortable.
