About this property

Worlds End Chesapeake Cottage

Sick of being stuck at home together? Do something romantic - or at least different - and spend a few days in a cozy, clean, jewel-box cottage at the confluence of five rivers - the Bohemia, Elk, Susquehanna, Sassafras, North East - that all meet the in the bay fronting the cottage. This darling, well-appointed 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage is a warm, inviting space perfect for a short or long-term getaway. It sits back from a high bluff above the water, in a residential neighborhood of Cecil County, Maryland. You can watch deer, eagles, osprey and hawks while sitting on your screen porch. Or, in winter, enjoy absolute quiet while you relax by the fireplace in the comfortable living room. All new appliances, staples provided, comfy queen bed in master, 2 twins in second bedroom. Large lawn for games behind the house. There is a gas BBQ and picnic table. Two kayaks, one good for fishing, as a sit-on-top; the other a sit-in. Use our dolly to pull the kayak to the community beach a short walk away or have a friend help you carry it. A peaceful retreat, perfect for a writing project or to catch up on your reading, or just to have some quiet time away from home. Writing a book? Rent it for the winter and write beside a blazing fireRent for a weekend or for longer, to create a home-away-from home you can use any time. Wilmington, DE 1 hour away; Baltimore, Philadelphia, 1.5 hours away. Washington, DC, 2 hours. Come relax and do nothing.

Loved it and already looking to go back
If you want to be left alone in a very charming, cozy and well thought out cottage, look no further. Ah! It also helps the views are amazing! I live in Jersey and work in Manhattan, was craving a weekend to disconnect and recharge, and this did the job. We had a minor issue with lack of hot water the first night which got resolved with no fuss. Other than that everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

This came to me through a friend and I am so happy it did. It is a charming little house in a really gorgeous part of the country I didn't know before. The farmland on the way to the cottage is stunning and feels like one is traveling through history. The view out front, no matter the season, is gorgeous and invigorating - wind in the fall, snow in the winter, summer sunny and warm. Watching the grass for deer, the trees for birds, and the water for ships is relaxing and a wonderful way to pass the time.
