Whimsical Woods is a beautiful suite with a hint of chic. This suit is located inside of our vintage Barn It is surrounded by oak trees making your experience feel peaceful and stress-free. We are located in Brooksville, Florida approximately 10 minutes away from the Withlacoochee state trail. The moment you step onto the property you will be transformed into the country, completely surrounded by nature. Whimsical Woods sits on a stunning 5-acre property making it an unforgettable destination. This one of a kind country setting is conveniently located near restaurants, beaches, beautiful trails and attractions.

With multiple photographic areas, we encourage all our guests to take pictures of the beautiful scenery and to also make use of some yard games that are provided. We have Corn Hole, yard Yahtzee and Large Sized Jenga pieces for a fun-filled evening.

Inside of the Whimsical Woods Suite, you will have access to air conditioning, a bathroom that comes with a shower, toilet, and sink. A mini kitchen area, equipped with a small sink, small fridge, two burner electric stove coffee maker, toaster and a few pots and pans anddishes, Coffee Machine, griddle and microwave. A comfortable living room area with a smart tv for streaming while you kick back and relax. This suite also comes with a queen-size bed and dresser as well as a full size sofa bed which makes this a perfect couples retreat or a great place to hang out with a friend or family.
WiFi is available however can be a bit spotty depending on the weather. We encourage our guests to enjoy the outdoor activities around the area to enhance your stay with us.
Please Note: This is a 4-guest suite, 1 room, 1 bathroom. The suite is not Wheelchair accessible at this time. Pets are welcome on the premises for an additional fee
$25 for pets under 35pounds and $50 for 35and up.

We ask that you do not come beyond the fire pit as we live on the premises and like to give privacy. The large fire pit and pool are off limits.

Awesome cozy stay

The property is amazing is so cozy. Great place for a getaway. My dogs loved the extra room to be able to run. It has everything you need for your stay. Highly recommend.

Country Paradise

We had such a relaxing time. This will be our go to place to recharge from our busy lives. The place itself was decorated so cute and cozy. Every thing necessary to fix a meal or go out to a restaurant which is not far away. Lindsey's farm stand a must ,home made breads, produce, deserts. Dawn was an amazing host. We are trying to figure out when to return. Our dogs also had an amazing time.

Quiet and comfortable

The property is in 5he country, quiet and about a half hour from the Florida state grounds where the Dog show was located. We were there for 10 days. If you plan to stay longer than a weekend, please note that this property has a very limited kitchen. I would suggest to the owner a larger microwave so at least a frozen meal can be made. Also note that the TV is streaming only, so have your passwords with you. Wi-Fi is available however I needed my hotspot to assist at times. It is in the country and we are used to that inconvenience so for us, not that big of a deal. I imagine most people are not staying for the length of time we did. Overall, it is very quaint, clean, good bathroom/shower. Our dog enjoyed being able to sit in the sun in the afternoons after the show, which for us was a huge benefit having a safe grassy area for us to be outside.

Quaint with Frustration

This unique rental is as pictured but... The owners really need to fix the network problems. We are technically adept but we could NOT get the wi-fi connected, the TV did not work (no internet and a message that the Dish bill was not paid) and the last straw was that the CD player would not read the disk (we tried several). When the owners were contacted, I was unnecessarily reminded that “we were in the country” and I was told that the modem was new and the previous guests had problems too. Yes, we obviously knew were were remote and in the country but it’s 2021. The mosquitoes were bothersome outside so we wanted to finish our wine with a movie inside without spending our time troubleshooting network connectivity.

Host was very accommodating with our coffee filter need when we brought ground coffee with us by supplying us with the Keurig filter for the machine. As for the interior space: it needed more counter space in the kitchenette to allow for more prep area. More hooks on the walls to accommodate hanging items not meant for clothes hangers would help. There was an automatic nightlight built in the underside of an outlet opposite the bed that was too bright and needed an option to shut it off (we prefer a completely dark room at night). The A/C unit was quite noisy. The armoire could have been stocked with nicer/newer hangers instead of the old wire and thin plastic ones that were provided. Finally, that entrance gate was a bit difficult to open and close due to the wheel/rut issue which required one to lift as you pulled in order to open/close it.

When I arrived at the premises I had to open the driveway gate. It was half broken and difficult to open which aggravated my arthritis. Upon making my way to the door I noticed the grass was overgrown and there were small spots of poop all over the patio entry. It was dark inside even though it was a sunny midafternoon day and I felt at least two fleas flying inside the residence. One window is blocked by the bed frame, another is difficult to open as it's behind the kitchen sink and the bathroom window wouldn't open. In addition, when I tried to open the window the plastic shade fell off and into the fabric curtain which knocked over the vase which nearly fell off the table. The air conditioner never shut off regardless of the temperature and cycle setting. I did not sleep much the first (and only) evening as the air conditioner is old and loud which aggravated my tinnitus and I felt like I had bugs on my body all night. In the morning I woke up and headed to the bathroom and noticed a live scorpion at the entrance. I did not feel clean and comfortable at this residence so I contacted the owner to explain the situation and my experience. I requested a refund for the unused days and she tried to start a debate with me. I now have to deal with Vrbo to get my money back as the owner did not credit much money back to my credit card. I don't see how this place was an exceptional stay with my recent experience.

If you love nature and want an experience life away from the normal tourist atmosphere, this is the place for you! We enjoyed the quiet, rustic charm of this little farm setting. It was far enough to disconnect, yet close enough to enjoy day trips to many different site-seeing adventures!!!

4th of July Getaway

We stayed here to get away from the craziness of our city for the Fourth of July. While it wasn’t as quiet as we would have hoped for the 4th of July, the area itself is very peaceful, besides some of the fireworks that went off that night. The owner of the property was very sweet and easy to communicate with. The tiny barn-like home was adorable and had everything we needed for the weekend. We definitely recommend any other weekend for a quiet getaway!

Relaxing Weekend Getaway

My husband and I were looking for a quiet weekend trip, and this was the perfect place for it. We spent the days exploring Brooksville and the surrounding areas, and we spent the evenings and nights at this beautiful cottage. The space was clean, cozy, and very welcoming. Our favorite parts were relaxing in the chairs behind the barn and also watching the chickens wander around. It truly felt like an escape!

GREAT LITTLE PLACE!

This was such a unique place to stay! My husband and I wanted to be close to the Withlacoochee Trail to ride our bicycles so this location was perfect. It is somewhat remote however a short drive takes you to restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc (of course, a Dollar General was near by as well!). A nice little kitchen with stove top, microwave, frig/freezer were offered with utensils, dishes, cups, etc.along with a keurig. The bed was extremely comfortable and because it was so quiet made for a great night's sleep. My dog loved the big area to run and play ball. Communication with the host was excellent. We will definitely go back when we are in town!

Lovely apartment and property.

This was our 2nd time staying at Whimsical Woods. Dawn and her family are always so warm and welcoming when we stay. The apartment is always clean and well stocked and Dawn lives on the property and is easily reachable if needed. The kitchen upgrade was a nice surprise and very useful. Also, internet was recently updated for those who need to stay connected. Property is gated and very safe. We love animals so of course enjoyed Dawns 3 dogs and chickens. A great place to disconnect and relax.

Unique stay

We weren’t sure exactly what we had booked, being adventurous we decided to go for it. The chic barn room was so cool. The room is cozy but had everything we could possibly need. We were visiting friends in the area so we were not there during the day. It is decorated so beautifully, Dawn has quite a talent for interior design.
