About this property

Ski in/out - At the village - King bed hotel room

Epic location! A true ski-in/out experience that is affordable. Located at Whiskey Towers building, one of the few slope-side buildings at Kirkwood. Chairlifts, village, general store & restaurants are a stone’s throw away. Unit is one large bedroom with a full bathroom, high-quality king bed, large 50” Roku TV, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, solid wood furniture and brand-new carpet. Functions exactly like a hotel room with keypad door access.

The space
* please note that we do not give refunds due to inclement weather or road conditions… Kirkwood is a very remote place and if you’re not prepared to travel in the snow, do not book my unit!

The unit is one large bedroom and bathroom with complete privacy and keypad door access, functions exactly like a hotel room. The unit includes a private bathroom with bath & shower, large 50” Roku TV, high-quality king bed fridge, microwave, coffee maker, blazing fast fiber-optic WiFi and location, location location! The unit has everything you’d find in a typical hotel room plus brand-new carpeting with plush memory foam lining (every step is heaven!) and high-quality amenities like Egyptian cotton sheets, quality pillows and towels, and solid wood furniture. There is even an area at the unit entrance to leave your equipment, boots and wet gear if you do not want to bring it into the room. Unit is located on the 3rd floor with elevator access.

There is no kitchen or cooking in this unit, however there are many different dining options within walking distance: 7800 Bar & Grill downstairs, Kirkwood General Store (sandwiches, beer, etc.) in the Red Cliffs Lodge, The Wall Bar in the Village or the Cornice Grill across from the village. Everything you need is a short walk away, including being first in line on a powder day!

The ski-in/out access from this unit is unmatched. There are only a few slope-side buildings at Kirkwood, this is one of them. Put on your gear and walk out the door to the main mountain chairlifts (Chairs 6/5/10/11/1), it’s that simple! Nothing beats a few steps to-and-from your unit and the ski resort. Repeat, repeat, repeat! Ha!

Parking for this unit is first come, first serve. A long row of parking spots is available next to the building.

Zero Tolerance Noise Policy:
This is a quiet building, if you are looking to party with your buddies or want to stay up late this is not the unit for you. I have a strict noise policy that will result in additional fees if noise is not controlled. Quiet hours are from 8 p.m. – 8 a.m.

Early/Late Check In/Out Policy:
When we can accommodate, an early or late check out can be made available for a $50 fee. The reason we charge this fee is because Kirkwood has the highest utility costs in the country.

Guest access
You can access the studio room, front unit entrance to keep equipment and patio area in front of building.

Other things to note
Check out is 11 a.m. prompt! Unless otherwise communicated per the early/late check in/out policy mentioned above.

Needed a place to crash for two nights
I was in Kirkwood for a race. Needed a place to lay my head. Didn’t need a kitchen etc, location was key and clean too. This hit the mark and would do it again. Thank you for a great stay.

Basic accommodation in good location; heating issues
We stayed 1/3 nights because of a storm. Weird thing is that you can’t control the thermostat - it’s controlled remotely by the host. When we got in (around 8:30 pm) we immediately messaged the host through the app because the room was unbearably hot. Not only an issue for us, but for our Bernese Mountain Dog who doesn’t do well in heat. No response. Tried calling - didn’t go through. Also texted - no response. Ended up sleeping on the floor because heat rises. Got a response after 9 am that the temperature had been turned down. We left feeling exhausted and dried out. Mega shame

Great cozy place right on the slopes
My son and I went for a weekend trip to Kirkwood for Spring skiing and met up with some friends who were staying at the Meadows. I wasn’t sure how it would go because Kirkwood is somewhat isolated, the room does not have a kitchen, and there aren’t many food options at Kirkwood. Couple that with Covid restrictions, and it was going to be tough. As it turns out, for a weekend, this location was a good call. We were next to the store, and despite the fact that the prices were outrageously expensive (box of cereal was $10, for example), it was the only place you could get hot breakfast food before hitting the slopes. Anyways, the convenience of being near the store was nice. As for the room itself, it was exactly what we needed: a nice place to crash after skiing for the day. The room was clean, and had everything we needed: towels, sheets, blankets, soap, shampoo, etc. there is a small fridge, and we used that to store some drinks. The Roku TV remote was out of batteries, but we didn’t figure it out until the night before we were going to leave. So, not a big deal as it just meant we were able to get up earlier for the next day; we notified Brianna about it and I’m sure the batteries will be replaced. The only thing that was a little tough was just the entry. We arrived late due to traffic, and initially went to the wrong set of doors to enter the building, and the entry for the building is unlit until you open the doors. Once we figured that out, it was fine. The other thing is just remembering all the codes to get in: the code to get into the elevator area, the code to access the three different units on the floor, the code to access the unit. It is this way for all the units at Kirkwood; this is not a complaint—more a comment on my memory skills. In any event, I had a great time staying at the place, and we would gladly return. Thanks, Brianna for having us!

Fantasic Location! Great for Weekend Trips
Family (wife + 2 kids) had a blast at Kirkwood. The location is unbeatable, you can ski/skate down to #1 (Snowkirk) lift and start you day or the other lifts #11, #10, #5 are a short walk away. The description of the room is spot on. Talking to other owners on the property the building was meant to be a hotel, but half way through planning they turned it into condos. The room is slightly smaller than an average sized hotel room. Plenty of blankets and two space heaters are in the room. The kids (5 and 9) loved sleeping on the top bunk. The room is great for a long weekend trip, any longer length of stay I would probably find something bigger. The owner was very quick to response to all my questions. Overall great experience.

Great Location but poor communication
The location and the property are great. When we arrived the parking space spot for the property was taken & all the spots for 'guests.' We were left with nowhere to park by the property. When I reached out to the property manager, I never got a response. We ended up parking in a 'no overnight parking' area for the first night (received a parking violation notice) and luckily we were able to move our car for the second night we were there.
