Fortunate sun guest house near Joshua Tree

Relax and watch the snow on the mountains from just about every window in this spacious and solitary one bedroom guest house, located in Yucca Valley, California, right next to Joshua Tree National Park. Fifteen minutes by car will have you at the Park’s entrance, or drive fifteen minutes the other way to world renowned Pappy & Harriets in Pioneer Town, where you can hear famous bands play, and eat wonderful barbecue. The Fortunate Sun has all the advantages of being close to town shops, restaurants, and services, yet it is bordered by a local park and wash at the end of a road so that you have maximum privacy. The landscape is natural to the area, and we have thirty Joshua trees on our acre, some bigger than many in the park itself.

We are dog friendly with a $50 pet fee. Your dog will enjoy roaming in that adjacent park, as well as in the private back yard that is completely fenced in. This guest house forms the third wing of a larger home, which is occasionally used by the owner. On this side of the one acre plus lot, The Fortunate Sun utilizes a separate driveway, coded entrance, screened porch, and back yard. The large living room includes an ample refrigerator with ice maker and microwave.

Even with all that, the living room has plenty of space for a brand new plush sofa with mountain views. From there a comfortable bedroom with queen bed leads to a full tub/shower combo bathroom, where you can enjoy a good soak after a long day of hiking. Wifi is included, and both living area and bedrooms have flat screen tv’s. And each room has an individual, split-type remote controlled air conditioning/heating unit, which gives you just the right indoor temperature, no matter what mother nature is doing outside.

The private porch forms a natural breezeway between the front and back yards, and provides even more space for you to spread out in. The back yard has additional outside seating, where you can enjoy the seasons along with the cute cottontail rabbits that have dens all through the property. All in all, you will have over 700 square feet of indoor living space, plus the immense outdoor areas, for your personal use only.
