Such a neat property!! In between 2 bodies of water there are very few places for a dog to get lost! They had a blast exploring the grounds, we enjoyed fishing and kayaking. It had everything I expected and more. We'll be back!!!

With a small lake on one side and the river in the other, it made water activities extremely convenient. The fairly remote location made for a quiet and relaxing weekend. Would highly recommend this property.

This was a really nice getaway for my husband and I for a few days. The cabin was very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed going out on the lake on the paddle boat. There were so many turtles and they were fun to watch. It was just a nice, quiet place to recharge for a few days.

Great private lake getaway

Great place for a weekend getaway. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The location is great with a private lake on one side and a river on the other. Plenty for everyone to do. We were able to fish and play outside with my toddler. Great place for all ages! It was a nice short trip for us and just what we needed!

Loved the location!

We loved our stay in the Lake House. The photos were very accurate, and the whole place was nice and clean. We saw so many turtles and frogs in the pond and our daughter loved the paddle boat. It was also easy to use the dock on the Wapsi side to get our canoe in and out. It is a very peaceful, quiet setting but still close to the conveniences of town. We hope to return!

It’s was freezing cold and snowy while we stayed there. It would be amazingly fun there in the summer, but it is absolutely peaceful sitting out in the deck while it was snowing watching a bald Eagle fly by. I will absolutely rent again!

The Lake House, nestled on the banks of the Wapsipinicon River and Goose Lake in Independence, Iowa, has been a part of our lives for many years. It's a place where memories have been made for over a century. As our lives grew busier, with boys growing up and our jobs demanding more of our time, we realized that we couldn't enjoy The Lake House as much as we did when the boys were little. So, we decided to share our part-time love with others.
