About this property

This house is privately owned by Lindy and Bill Whetzel. It was built in 1957 by Lindy‘s grandparents Alice and Scott Mouse. It is all one floor which makes it ideal. It has a spacious living room, three bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen and a sunroom. Two of the three bedrooms have a TV and there is also a TV in the living room. The house features a beautiful view of Mouse Lake and the property has a rich history in Emporia Kansas. You’ll be seven blocks from downtown Emporia and Emporia State University. During your stay we want you to enjoy our place. You could fish for channel cat and bass and you can boat either in a rowboat or a kayak. In the winter you could bring your ice skates.

Family Christmas Stay

Property is beautiful! Even though it was cold, we threw a few lines out to see if anything would bite. My family of four (2 adults, 2 little ones) plus my sister and brother in law stayed here and there was ample room for all of us. Lindy was probably the best host that I have had experience with...super available and accomodating. I have short stays in Emporia quite frequently and look forward to booking in the spring!

My husband, Bill and I have been married 52 years. Bill is retired from the construction business and I am a retired teacher. Bill loves to work in his shop with woodworking and I love to be outdoors.
