Residents of the 11th arrondissement benefit first of all from an exceptional cultural offer. By visiting the historic squares of Bastille, Nation and République, you can immerse yourself in the revolutionary history of the district. Indeed, the 11th arrondissement played a decisive role during the great workers' revolts of the 19th century. Don't miss also the so-called tomb of Louis XVII in the Sainte-Marguerite Church, which has kept a lot of mystery, as well as the Edith Piaf museum and, if you like urban culture, the MUR.
Formerly a working class district, the XIth arrondissement is now one of the most ""trendy"" districts of the capital, especially on the Place de la Bastille side with many bars with different atmospheres. The district is also rich in theatres and concert halls, such as the Bataclan, the Bastille Theatre and the Balajo. You can also enjoy yourself at the Cirque d'Hiver and the Bastille Opera.
Moreover, it is the most festive district of Paris, thanks to its multitude of bars and restaurants, full of life and madness on the Bastille side, more chic towards Oberkampf. But you can also enjoy the peace and quiet of the hidden cities, including the Cité du Figuier and the Cité Durmar, or take a stroll along the Canal Saint-Martin.
Charles de Gaulle Airport is 40 minutes away and Orly Airport is around 30 minutes far, both with a car ride.
The closest metro station is Ledru-Rollin (350m).
