## Emplacement
Famous for its port facilities and shipyards, discover the unique maritime heritage of Saint-Nazaire in Loire-Atlantique! Located in the city's port, the former submarine base invites you to immerse yourself in this very special world. In the Escal'Atlantic International Liner Center, visit the cabins, explore the engine room, the wheelhouse... Climb aboard the submarine Espadon and dive into the world of the abysses or stand amazed in front of the Chantiers de l'Atlantique, the place where cruise ships are built. Rich in information, the ecomuseum retraces the history of the city and allows you to learn a little more about its evolution over time. Don't forget to go up to the roof terrace of the submarine base for a panoramic view of the entire port. And at sunset, what a light show! Saint-Nazaire has a very beautiful coastline: beaches, sheltered creeks, promontories, cliffs, a preserved landscape not far from the city center. A little aside: the beach of Saint-Marc was made famous by Jacques Tati who filmed Mr. Hulot's Holiday there. Connoisseurs of the film will easily recognize it. Take your time and enjoy a pleasant walk along the coastal path or along the waterfront to the Vieux Môle lighthouse. Stroll through the city and discover small quiet streets here, old villas there, the market hall, the small port of Méan, the wheelbarrow paths that are these very small passages so characteristic dating from the last century, located in the district of Méan-Penhoët... As you visit, admire the works of street art that adorn some buildings in the city. At the end of July, the port of Saint-Nazaire takes on a festive atmosphere with Les Escales, an event dedicated to current music, from pop to rock, including electro and world music.
