Cozy Mountain Retreat in Chimney Rock Village

Cozy four-bedroom, three bathroom, dog-friendly cabin in Chimney Rock Village with spectacular views of Hickory Nut Falls and Gorge. This cabin can easily accommodate a large family or couples on a weekend getaway.

This upscale cabin has lots of luxuries, including King beds in three of the bedrooms, one bedroom with a Queen, and two additional sofa beds. The upstairs loft room has amazing views. There is a play room in the basement with a Foosball table, and a hot tub on the lower deck. The upper deck has a screened-in porch with a large sectional and a gas fire pit. It also has an open portion with a small sitting area and propane grill.

This cabin is owned by a professionally trained chef - so the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook an amazing meal. And, if cooking isn't your thing, well you are just a few minutes away from the restaurants in heart of Chimney Rock Village and Lake Lure. Want to check out the breweries and killer restaurants in Asheville? We're only about 30 minutes to downtown. 30 minutes in the other direction, and you can check out the wineries around Tryon. Horses your thing? Check out the International Equestrian Center in Tryon.

If you are coming for the outdoors - I'm not even sure where to start. You are minutes away from Chimney Rock State Park, dozens of hiking and biking trails., and multiple whitewater kayaking rivers. (Or you can head closer into Asheville for lazy float down the shallow, calm French Broad.) Lake Lure is a gorgeous mountain lake in a deep valley with a swim beach and boat rentals. Or you can check out the Blue Ridge Parkway and WNC Farms - famous apple orchards (Hendersonville Apple Festival is every Labor Day weekend), Hickory Nut Farms, and Looking Glass creamery are just minutes down the road.

Or just stay home! There is wireless internet and plenty of places to hole up to watch a movie on a streaming service or, if so inclined, to work remotely. There is a desk in the loft that will provide you with a place to get some work done - provided the view is not too distracting.

We welcome dogs (sorry - no cats) upon approval and an additional pet fee. Our dog Lilo has checked the place out thoroughly and gives it the canine seal of approval.

This cabin is up a very steep road. The road is plowed during snow storms, but it will be impossible to navigate in icy conditions. We will allow for a full refund (minus a processing fee) for a cancellation during the months of December - February if winter weather would make accessing the house dangerous.

Perfect Mountain Get-Away

We had the best time at this cabin. Everything was perfect - from the kitchen to bedrooms to outside porch area. Beds were comfortable and the whole place was spotless! We look forward to visiting again soon.

We had a wonderful time at this Vrbo. The cabin is charming, comfortable, and well stocked in the kitchen! It was decorated for the holidays which made our stay so much better. We enjoyed our long weekend with friends and family in your cabin near Chimney Rock. The cabin is extremely well stocked. Probably the best we have stayed in over the years! We enjoyed safely spotting a black bear next to the cabin one evening! Also saw two more in town! Great location, great cabin, and great fun!

Great Ladies Getaway!

We enjoyed the nostalgia of Lake Lure, climbed to the top of Chimney Rock and spent a long super fun day exploring Asheville & Biltmore! The cabin was so nice and relaxing! We had our own space plus really special hang out areas next to the fireplace, in the jacuzzi and making meals in the amazing kitchen! We even cut loose and danced a bit! Loved this VRBO! Plan to go back!!

Chimney Rock #11

This property was above and beyond all of our wildest expectations. The owners thought of everything we could possibly need and then added more. We were there for Christmas and arrived to a fully decorated tree, Christmas decorations in every room and poinsettias on the table. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and the outdoor grill. There are many good hikes nearby and we were able to “social distance” while totally enjoying ourselves.

Another great visit!

This was our second stay a the Chimney Rock Cabin and thoroughly enjoyed it again. The cabin is clean and beautiful and has amazing views. But what we find most noteworthy is how thoughtfully stocked it is... not just with the usual soap and shampoo, but with coffee, filters, popcorn, spices, olive oil, garbage bags, detergent, quality cookware, etc... everything we normally forget on vacation and spend too much time trying to track down. I visited in March/April 2021 with my wife and two teenage sons. We enjoyed it so much we came back again and brough my brother's family. Between the two families we had four children ranging in age from 11 to 17. They all enjoyed the cabin as much as the adults. We all hope to visit again some day!

Relaxing Chimney Rock home

My family and I (Two adults, three kids, + two dogs) enjoyed our week in Chimney Rock and found the house to be very comfortable and well stocked with just about anything we could have needed during our stay. The kids especially enjoyed the downstairs game room with the foosball table, Wii, and various books and board games to keep them occupied when we were not out exploring the area. The remote controlled gas fireplace in the main floor living room provided the perfect ambiance. And the gas fire table on the screen porch made sitting outside at night very comfortable. The proximity to the Hickory Nut Falls and Rocky Broad River down below in the gorge meant that you could actually hear the water flowing anytime you opened the windows or doors, kind of like a natural "white noise" that was very peaceful. The house has a helpful guidebook with listings for many area attractions. Spend a few minutes reviewing it when you arrive because there is so much information in there. We actually booked a local horseback riding trip after seeing a brochure in the guidebook. Although we mostly dined at area restaurants during our stay, the kitchen was well stocked with every tool you could possibly need to cook for yourself or your family. The gas grill outside on the deck was very clean and worked perfectly. The hot tub was a welcome feature after we spent our days hiking different trails in the area. Overall it was a very comfortable house and we would definitely book it again

Family vacation

We recently stayed at Chimney Lake Cabin for a mini pre-Thanksgiving/birthday vacation. I had been searching for weeks to find the perfect place, not necessarily in this area but just a place where we could go that my husband and family agreed upon. I was almost giving up when this house popped up available. It was an immediate yes and I reserved it that night. From the first message, Kathleen and Jeff were very responsive to all my questions from the internet capabilities to what to eat in the area. They provided every detail we needed about the house. Even the treat of wine and smores when we arrived was the sweetest thing and the smores were a hit with my daughter. I, of course, loved the wine. 😊 The house is awesome, stocked with everything you need to relax both inside and out. I spent most of the time outside on the desk with the fire pit. There is plenty of room to spread out with 3 floors, 2 and then the loft area. My daughter loved the fact that she could hide in the basement and have her own floor to herself. The hot tub and foosball table was a big hit for our relaxing day in. The only downside I can see to this house, and no fault of Kathleen or Jeff is the very steep and windy drive to get to the cabin. I highly recommend getting there during daylight, it is a bit nerve-wracking at night. Thankfully my husband drove so I only had mild anxiety getting to the top as we got there when it was dark. There are speed bumps at the lower part of the drive when you first come up the hill, so go slow and careful but after it's not terrible just steep, and when you think you passed it, go just a little further, you’re almost there. The views are amazing and the sound of the river is calming. My husband who is harder to please with stays than I am was impressed and happy with this stay. He may even be planning another trip back when it’s a bit warmer. Thanks to Kathleen and Jeff for making this stay so perfect for us.

Thanksgiving Weekend Family Getaway

Kathleen and Jeffs property is the absolute CLEANEST rental we have ever stayed in. They sincerely wanted to make our stay the best possible. Everything we needed (and more) was in the home and waiting for us when we arrived. Directions for all appliances, fireplace, heat/air, BBQ grill, propane fire pit/table on deck etc. I cannot think of one negative thing about the property or owners. ABSOLUTE 5 STARS!!!!!!! Amazing house and great hosts!

Our group of college friends thoroughly enjoyed catching up around the fire pit and in the hot tub! The kitchen was well stocked and we all agreed the beds and bedding were very comfy. The gas grill cooked our steaks perfectly. We made day trips to Chimney Rock State Park and to Asheville during our stay. The very steep winding road up to the cabin and the close neighbors were a surprise but worked out ok. Loved lunch at Lured and brunch at The Rural Seed! Jeff and Kathleen were very responsive to messages and thought of everything their guests may need while traveling. We plan to return next Fall!

Fantastic Cabin

This cabin is very well taken care of and all the amenities and extras we needed. They even have random stuff like seasonings and sauces we needed.. plenty of TP, trash bags, etc.. smart! The cabin is close to the village and has some peeps through the trees of Chimney Rock that probably improve once the leaves fall.

Perfect Memorial Day Weekend

The size of the house was perfect for a couple high school friends and I, plus a wife, girlfriend, and friend to stay comfortably. We were beyond impressed by how well stocked the entire place was, particularly the kitchen cooking supplies and tea options. Our goal was to spend as much time hiking and in Asheville as possible, but the house made us want to spend more cozy time in the screened in porch, hot tub, or cooking more food at home. The location was great too for us to get to various hiking spots, not too bad getting into Asheville, and a decent distance from breweries nearby or also in Asheville. We have been coming to Asheville for Memorial Day as a group for a few years now and this was by far the best place we have stayed at, we all loved it!

Excellent mountain getaway

This is a beautiful home in the mountains. The owner has provided every amenity you could think of. We loved playing with the Wii. The hot tub was wonderful. The selection of books, games, and movies was spot on. We loved the screened deck as well. Would definitely stay again.

Best property we have stayed in Asheville area!

This cabin was fantastic. It was super clean, spacious, relaxing, and was in an excellent location. There is everything you would need and then some. We could not believe all that the owners provided! The beds were incredibly comfortable!!!! We have been renting in the Asheville and surrounding areas for over 10 years and have never been so satisfied with a property. It was also very close to excellent hikes. If we could give more than 5 stars, we absolutely would. Thanks Kathleen and Jeff for the best trip!! We will definitely be renting again!!

Wonderful cabin!

What a great place to stay! The cabin was very clean and so well stocked. The owners have thought of everything - from extra toothbrushes in the bathrooms to wonderfully soft sheets on the comfortable beds. Highly recommend this cabin!
