Quaint Cottage on Tidal Creek with Private Dock, minutes to Shellman Bluff
This quaint cottage is located on a quiet road that dead ends into McCoy Creek. Home has a private dock with some of the most beautiful Eastern views and sunrises available. Home is 400 square foot with one bedroom and one bathroom and a large screened in front porch. This cottage makes you relax the moment you walk in the door and has been completely remodeled so that each guest has all the comforts of home. Dock is brand new and will provide you access to a lively tidal creek that flows into White Chimney River and all the barrier islands that we love on the Georgia Coast.
Tide goes completely out at most low tides so you would have a 2+ hour wait time to come in or go out of the river.
The yard is large enough so a guest can bring a boat and more than one vehicle. Do not park behind the home. This is where the septic tank is located. Disregard of this notice may result in extra costs to guest should any damages occur.

This was a great, relaxing, clean place. From the comfortable, cozy and cute home to the beautiful view of the marsh from the screened in back porch and private dock, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Emily was very attentive and was easy to get in touch with. You won't regret your stay here!
This was a great peaceful and quiet get away. The cottage was beautiful with great little touches to make it comfortable. We loved the screened in porch, the kayaks, and the dock.
My wife and I stayed for our 17th anniversary. This was a great weekend getaway to enjoy peace and quiet. The house was clean and the location was perfect. We enjoyed kayaking and just relaxing on the porch. We would highly recommend!
This was a wonderful location for kayaking, fishing, and golfing. The cottage kitchen was well equipped for making our own meals. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location is perfect for a day trip to Savannah, or to the many islands nearby. This is the perfect place to get away and take a break.
I was looking for a couple of days of solitude and this was the perfect spot--a lovely and peaceful location, comfortable accommodations and excellent communication from the host. Thank you!
Peaceful place, very clean with all the simple amenities we need. We spent much of our time on the dock fishing and enjoying the nature around us. We hope to be back again.
We had a wonderful time at the cottage. It was clean and had everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing weekend. “Better than any hotel”… as my husband said. Thank you for sharing it, we hope to come back!
Such a wonderful little cabin. It was clean, tidy, and equiped with all of the essentials. We really enjoyed our stay! The view is gorgeous from the front porch. We loved sitting there in the morning to watch the sunrise and drink our coffee. And, the sunset was just as spectacular with our evening wine.
Perfect home for a couple. Amazing views. We enjoyed grilling on our dock. Emily and Rick, the owners, were very attentive to our needs. Great weekend.
Fantastic stay! Cottage had everything that you needed. Host is exceptional! The stay was quiet and relaxing, it was much needed. Beautiful views and sunrises! The cottage was perfect with the screened in porch. Look forward to going again.
We didn’t have to travel far to get a piece of heaven. Our stay was very secluded and peaceful. We will definitely be back. The property was very clean. We didn’t have any issues during our stay.

We had a wonderful time here and the house smelled amazing. It was exactly as described and the dock was perfect! We especially enjoyed being able to night fish and shrimp just steps away from the house and enjoyed the quiet all around. The bed was so comfortable - we had no trouble falling asleep. Would happily recommend to friends. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!
This little house was absolutely perfect for us. It was well equipped and was very convenient to the destination that we came for....Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge. We had a visitor from Brunswick who couldn't stop talking about what a wonderful find I made when I discovered this cottage. If my health continues to be stable, We hope to celebrate my 82nd and my wife's 80th birthdays in this great little cottage. Thank you Emily for all your prompt replies to my questions.
We had been looking for yeas for a small house on water with it's own dock. This fit our specifications to a T. The rain kept us from getting to the dock until the last two days, but we caught roughly 25 crab, which we boiled and picked on the dock until it got too hot to stay out there. The area had some really good restaurants close by. The only thing I would change is for a shorter bed. I am only 5'1". My hubby had to pull me into the bed each night.
The rest was great!
We very much enjoyed our stay. The area is rural, right on a tidal creek, with waterfowl, wading birds, mink, dolphins, and a bald eagle that sat right on the dock piling! Gorgeous sunrise and an unbelievable moonrise over the marsh. We used the kayaks once (a little cool most of the time) and the tidal creek upstream was fun.
The house was just the right size for the two of us, was very clean and well-maintained, and was well-equipped. Emily and Rick were so friendly and always available to answer questions.
We went north to Savannah, and south to Brunswick and visited so many parks and historical sites! The little museum in Midway was a special treat. We learned so much about the remarkable history of the Georgia coast. Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge was very near and great for biking and viewing birds and wildlife.
If you are looking for a peaceful retreat — this is it!

My husband and I have longed to own this property for many years as my grandparents once owned it and sold it to a family member many years ago. We were fortunate enough to purchase the property and renovate it so that others can enjoy our piece of Heaven on Earth.
The cottage is next door to our home but is very private and offers our guests the ability to relax on their private dock and enjoy some of the best crabbing and fishing around.
I truly enjoyed working on this home and turning it into a serene place to visit. -I go there often to just sit and relax.
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood was started by my great grandparents many years ago and each child and their families settled into the area. My grandparents once owned the property and later sold it to a family member. Growing up we used to have many family gatherings at this cottage and would watch our elders sit in the living room and pick the guitar and sing. I have so many great memories here that I thought it would be great to keep this piece of my history and purchase this property. We purchased our home next door about 5 years ago and dreamed of one day owning this property as well. We made the purchase August 2020 and it has been a labor of love restoring this home so others could enjoy it.
The neighborhood still consists of family members so it is a quiet area to visit.
Welcome to my piece of Heaven
What makes this property unique
This property has an expansive Eastern view of the marshes and White Chimney community. You can sit on the porch or the dock and watch the cars coming in and out of Shellman Bluff. It is so relaxing.
My husband always crabbed off this dock even before we purchased the home, the crabbing here is exceptional (in Summer months especially)
Fishing is also good in this creek, my husband fishes off our dock next door almost daily and usually always has a fish or two to bring to the house.
