Quaint Cottage on Tidal Creek with Private Dock, minutes to Shellman Bluff
This quaint cottage is located on a quiet road that dead ends into McCoy Creek. Home has a private dock with some of the most beautiful Eastern views and sunrises available. Home is 400 square foot with one bedroom and one bathroom and a large screened in front porch. This cottage makes you relax the moment you walk in the door and has been completely remodeled so that each guest has all the comforts of home. Dock is brand new and will provide you access to a lively tidal creek that flows into White Chimney River and all the barrier islands that we love on the Georgia Coast.
Tide goes completely out at most low tides so you would have a 2+ hour wait time to come in or go out of the river.
The yard is large enough so a guest can bring a boat and more than one vehicle. Do not park behind the home. This is where the septic tank is located. Disregard of this notice may result in extra costs to guest should any damages occur.
No pets allowed. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Great little weekend getaway! Fun on the water, relaxing, bed was so comfortable! We took a drive to Darian to see the fort and then to St Simone Island, just what we wanted.
My husband and I had a very pleasant vacation. We were out and about most of the day and would enjoy quiet time on the dock watching the tide go in/out. Lots of wildlife activity to enjoy.
My wife and I stayed for our 17th anniversary. This was a great weekend getaway to enjoy peace and quiet. The house was clean and the location was perfect. We enjoyed kayaking and just relaxing on the porch. We would highly recommend!
This was a great peaceful and quiet get away. The cottage was beautiful with great little touches to make it comfortable. We loved the screened in porch, the kayaks, and the dock.
This cottage was perfect for my husband and me to just get away for a couple of days. We originally planned to kayak, but we decided to head up to Savannah one day and down to Jekyll the next. We had a couple of meals and a nice walk afterwards in Darien. The location is just right for exploring up and down the Georgia coast.
This is one of my & my husband’s favorite place to stay. It’s quiet, it’s clean & the location is perfect. The kitchen is well appointed if you wish to prepare meals there but we always go out for dinner at the restaurants in the Darien area. Highly recommend.
We drove down from Decatur GA to got to Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge and see the wood stork rookery and other birds, including the spectacular painted bunting, easily seen on the feeders by the refuge office. The cottage was far more than expected: comfortable, next to the marsh (with plentiful birds) and a short drive to the refuge. The house was very comfortable, had everything we needed, and is in a beautiful spot. It is just the right size for two.
This was a wonderful location for kayaking, fishing, and golfing. The cottage kitchen was well equipped for making our own meals. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location is perfect for a day trip to Savannah, or to the many islands nearby. This is the perfect place to get away and take a break.
I was looking for a couple of days of solitude and this was the perfect spot--a lovely and peaceful location, comfortable accommodations and excellent communication from the host. Thank you!
The best part was floating around in the kayaks watching my grandson fish. The peace and tranquility was exactly what I as a health care worker needed. No hustle and bustle just peace serenity. The cottage was perfect with beautiful views
Great cottage getaway! The view from the porch and the dock is incredible. You wake up to a beautiful marsh view. Perfect size for the two of us with all the amenities you could ask for. Enjoyed every minute of it!
This is a wonderful little cottage tucked away on the waters. The dock was great and the morning views were amazing. It was convenient to many restaurants but off the beaten path. Great host!!!! Very clean cabin. Excited to go back!
My husband and I have longed to own this property for many years as my grandparents once owned it and sold it to a family member many years ago. We were fortunate enough to purchase the property and renovate it so that others can enjoy our piece of Heaven on Earth.
The cottage is next door to our home but is very private and offers our guests the ability to relax on their private dock and enjoy some of the best crabbing and fishing around.
I truly enjoyed working on this home and turning it into a serene place to visit. -I go there often to just sit and relax.
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood was started by my great grandparents many years ago and each child and their families settled into the area. My grandparents once owned the property and later sold it to a family member. Growing up we used to have many family gatherings at this cottage and would watch our elders sit in the living room and pick the guitar and sing. I have so many great memories here that I thought it would be great to keep this piece of my history and purchase this property. We purchased our home next door about 5 years ago and dreamed of one day owning this property as well. We made the purchase August 2020 and it has been a labor of love restoring this home so others could enjoy it.
The neighborhood still consists of family members so it is a quiet area to visit.
Welcome to my piece of Heaven
What makes this property unique
This property has an expansive Eastern view of the marshes and White Chimney community. You can sit on the porch or the dock and watch the cars coming in and out of Shellman Bluff. It is so relaxing.
My husband always crabbed off this dock even before we purchased the home, the crabbing here is exceptional (in Summer months especially)
Fishing is also good in this creek, my husband fishes off our dock next door almost daily and usually always has a fish or two to bring to the house.
