The Hideaway is aptly named, 3 miles up a dirt road from town. It is a beautiful home and as peaceful and quiet as we had hoped. The bedrooms are downstairs from the modern kitchen and comfortable living area. We usually bring our own set of kitchen knives as the many rental homes we have visited are usually lacking in that area, and this was no exception. The narrow spiral staircase might be an issue for some people, too, but hose are the only two cautionary notes I have to offer. In our case, it was a great choice for our stay. The kitchen is quite user-friendly and we were easily able to cook our main meals there. We did eat out a few times but we were not impressed with the local restaurants; however, the bakery in town makes the best bread for sandwiches and cookies for lunch on the ski hill. The view of the mountains from the cabin is spectacular, and it is a short drive up to the Wolf Creek ski area. Even if there's no snow, an all-wheel drive vehicle is recommended to navigate the drive to the cabin and up the mountain. We had snow 3 days and were glad we took the XC70 and left the mini-van at home. All in all, this is one of the best places we have rented and Samuel is a fine host. We would definitely go back to enjoy the cabin and the wonderful people and facilities at Wolf Creek.
