Enjoy the perfect cozy cabin in a secluded setting like no other, yet close to town. The home is new, with the finest details of mountain-lodge architecture and modern finish. We clean and maintain the “Hideaway” cabin ourselves, assuring spotless quality to make your stay fresh and pleasant.

Located within 60 acres of dense pine forest with a pristine mountain view from a wall of windows and a large back deck. This cabin was built with a quiet, peaceful retreat in mind. So, by design, there is no TV or wifi, yet one can easily connect to Verizon. It is perfect for those who truly want to unplug from big city noise.

Each of the 2 bedrooms have fluffy queen-sized beds and the cozy living room has an easy-to-use, gas fireplace encased in gorgeous rock. Super tall ceilings with massive wood beams add to its charm. The fine craftsman finish includes solid maple and slate flooring and custom solid-wood cabinets.

If a quiet get-a-way is your theme, the Hideaway will be your dream. The walk-in shower with floor-to-ceiling tile provides a shower experience to remember.

The house is just 3 miles north of historic Pagosa Springs with its hot springs, trails, restaurants and coffee shops — closer to Wolf Creek than if you stay in the Pagosa Lakes area. The Hideaway has two bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, washer/dryer, front deck, back deck with grill, and the spiral staircase is an exquisite touch. Everyone raves about the Big Chill retro kitchen appliances.

Enjoy our personal one-mile walking or running loop trail which leads you to another personal deck with an amazing view of Pagosa Peak, a labyrinth walkway, and take in sunrises off the deck. In winter months, 4WD is highly recommended. No Pets. This ensures a wonderful non-allergenic experience for all.

Look no further.I wanted to take my wife for a surprise trip to someplace special (for a ‘big’ birthday number) and decided on the Pagosa Springs area. Looked at numerous places and then found Samuels Hideaway; it was absolutely perfect for us. It felt like our home.Huge deck facing the San Juan mountains upon which we enjoyed morning coffee and evening cocktails. Kathy and I didn’t even leave the property the entire first day because there is a mile long trail through the surrounding heavily wooded area that beat most anything we’d been on lately.If you’re seeking a spiritual stay, enjoy privacy and nature; look no further!

Great Stay

The cabin was just outside of town. It was well stocked and super cute. The view on the balcony was amazing. We enjoyed our stay very much. If you want to unplug and unwind I would definitely recommend.

Stop...right...now...you've found it!!! The most perfect place to stay in Pagosa! If you've been searching for the majesty of nature, and the artistry of a human being, this is THE cabin in the woods for you!!! Nestled happily on a hill at the end of a lovely gravel driveway, perches this gorgeous place of peace. The setting is probably one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and I spent hours (yes, hours) on the back porch, gazing over the woodland forest and to Pagosa Peak in the distance. This cabin is exceptionally appointed, by a man who truly has an artist's eye and a taste for quality. This was a dream refuge for me, and one that I will absolutely visit again, to rest and sit quietly and cozy in the beauty of nature. Oh, and Pagosa was great too...but I liked the cabin better!!!!

Beautiful place to relax and unplug

Property was just what we were hoping for and more. The view from the back porch at sunrise and sunset were absolutely amazing. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed for a great stay. The walking trail on site was an added bonus. We will definitely be back.

Piece of Heaven

If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind this is the place. We had such a wonderful stay. Beautiful cabin, gorgeous scenery! It is TV and WIFI free, which for us was a bounus, you can unwind and get in touch. We will visit again. The owners were gracious and we had great communicaiton.

Third time's a charm--just like the first two

Our third stay at the Hideaway was just as wonderful as the last two times. Secluded, yet close to town. We spent each afternoon and happy hour on the deck overlooking miles of trees, meadows, and mountains. We set out our hummingbird feeder each day and had lots of takers. Samuel is the perfect host, which means he isn't there unless you need something!If you like hiking or scenic drives, be sure to pick up pamphlets on each topic at the visitor center downtown. We hiked to Opal Lake one day, and Buckles Lake another--a bit of driving to get there, but the hikes were fairly easy and well worth it. The one-mile hiking loop around the Hideaway is a very pleasant walk, as well.Thank you Samuel, for sharing your peaceful cabin and we look forward to another stay in the future.

Relaxing and Peaceful Hideaway -HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This beautiful home was exceptional on all levels! It was very clean, furnished with new appliances, and surrounded by inspirational decor that allowed a perfect atmosphere for unwinding. It is conveniently located for any day adventure in the surrounding areas . The mile hiking trail with points of interest near the house was an added bonus that was definitely a highlight of the trip. The host was easy to reach if needed and took great pride in making sure we had a wonderful stay. I highly recommend the Hideaway for a perfect getaway!

Absolutely awesome!

Our stay here was absolutely incredible! Everything about this cabin just oozes coziness. From the down comforters to the cozy living room and cool retro appliances. The view from the back deck is amazing to enjoy your coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. There were so many small special touches all around the cabin. The owners were very responsive although we lacked nothing while we were there. We will definitely be back soon!

Amazing

This house exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean, in order, and as good or better than advertised. I would not call this a VRBO house for rent, rather than a relaxing spiritual retreat. At this place, along with its relaxing grounds, God is only as real to a person as you allow him to be. Blessed big time.

Peace and Gentleness

My partner Matthew and I, Joseph, stayed in this home with my sister April for an Autumn getaway. Truly a joyful experience. The beauty, peacefulness, and gentleness of the surrounding landscape is an experience that will be remembered. The home is extremely well equipped with everything you could possible need. The entire home is so well constructed and appointed, it exudes welcomeness, peace, and love. We will be back for more! And we highly recommend this property to anyone desiring a peaceful, beautiful, thoughtful getaway.

Beautiful Property

This cabin is perfectly situated with the most amazing view of the surrounding mountains. It is incredibly close to town, yet you would not know it when you were there. The cabin is beautifully appointed and it is clear that things were picked out with a lot of care and thought. We enjoyed unwinding at the cabin and being unplugged from every day life. Samuel was a gracious host and was quick to communicate whenever we had questions or asked for recommendations. The grounds surrounding the cabin were gorgeous as well. We enjoyed the trail that can be found right outside the front door. I highly suggest this property.

Great Electronic-free Get-away!

We took our two boys up to Pagosa for a ski trip and a break from electronics after Xmas this year. The cabin is cozy and is in an amazing location with beautiful views! It’s only a few minutes to town and 40 minutes to the slopes. There are games to play around the table at night and the kitchen has everything you need to make family meals. The only improvement we would recommend is to have the heat on before guests arrive (even just a little). It was 39 degrees inside when we arrived and it took several hours for it to heat up - not ideal after a long day of driving. Aside from that, we very much enjoyed the property and found it very comfortable!

Breath of fresh air

This was our second time to Pagosa Springs and I was so glad I chose this house. It was easy to get to town but so peaceful with an incredible back porch. The pictures really don’t do it justice. Well stocked with a Kerig , utinsils, dishes, plenty of towels. I always like to bring some foil and ziplock bags. Kitchen was adorable. The stairs didn’t bother me at all but if we had stayed for weeks or had trouble with mobility could’ve been problematic. I think it’s well described in the listing though. Overall I loved it and my husband and teenage daughter were very impressed. Do take advantage of the one mile trail that starts right beside the house. It has a lovely overlook.

Wonderful Winter Getaway

If you’re looking to take in the gorgeous Colorado mountain views in a gorgeous cabin in the woods, The Hideaway is your place. We were looking for the charm of a cabin in the mountains for our winter trip and we definitely got that! The property had all of necessities needed for our 4 day stay and was super clean. Beds were super comfy. Our only suggestion would be a love seat or recliner in the living area to be able to relax by the fireplace. We had my 70 year old aunt and our 10 year old son on the trip but the property would also be ideal for a couple’s getaway. The property owner was super accommodating and allowed us an early check in since we were driving in from Texas. Due to a large amount of snow cover we didn’t get to explore the property as we would have liked but definitely enjoyed playing in the snow. As the owner suggests, 4-wheel drive is necessary if you come in the winter. We would not have made it to the cabin without it. Overall this was a beautiful property and everything we were looking for on our winter trip!

Great get away cabin. Beautiful view!!!! We seen a family of deer and chipmunks every morning. Very peaceful and a short drive into town. Definitely recommended for a couples getaway.

Was the perfect tranquil setting to get away from it all. The cabin was beautiful with nice finishes. The view off the back deck was perfect for drinking coffee and watching the mist roll through the valley below.
