Great location

Room was very nice. Would be helpful to get better hot tub instructions. Used the Huntley side since it was extremely cold and the Shoshone side was only a small indoor one that leads to a pool. Great stay and no problem with checking in instructions but a little unnerving to get them 24 hour in advance.

Convenient Mountain Getaway

We had an incredible stay at Shoshone 1909! The convenient access to the lifts for biking was great, and the shared pool, hot tub, and sauna were perfect for relaxing after a day on the mountain. The condo was clean, well-equipped, and spacious enough for our group of four and then some. We appreciated the full kitchen for cooking meals, and the location in Big Sky Mountain Village was ideal for dining and shopping. We highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a cozy and convenient mountain getaway.

Cute and cozy

Cozy, clean, and right at the base close to the action. The heated indoor/outdoor pool was fantastic after a powder day.

Not quite what we were expecting

I see all of the positive reviews from the skiers but our experience was not the same. There was a “funny smell” upon our arrival - like a nursing home. The furniture was quite outdated. We were told there was laundry service available which there was not. Where we had to park was quite a distance from where we stayed yet we were not told that and as a result we carried our luggage down a very long breezeway up several stairs prior to ever getting to the resort.

We had a great stay. The room was clean and well maintained. The fold out Murphy bed was surprisingly comfortable. Slight hiccup with the parking lot access code as the hotel had recently changed it a Vacasa did not get the update . Everything else was great

Warning: there is no washer/dryer!

Great ski in/ski out. 2 bathrooms. Full kitchen. Ski storage overnight. Hot tub. Murphy bed was so convenient. But they falsely advertise washer/dryer. They are in basement, but behind locked door that we couldn’t access. We asked front desk and Vacasa and they said sorry for the inconvenience but you can’t use them. They are only for Huntley Hotel guests, not Shoshone Condominium guests.

Nice condo, but not the best property management

We've stayed in the Shoshone, other Big Sky properties and many VRBO's around Big Sky, but those always had local property management, not Vacasa. We had 2 small issues we've never had we booked a shoshone room through Big Sky. It smelled STRONGLY like cleaning chemicals. To the point we got headaches. Also, there were some lights that weren't working. But we figured out these issues on our own, no biggie. We did have 2 issues that required help and when we called Vacasa, I was connected to someone in a call center in another country. They had such a strong accent I could hardly understand them. After we established that he couldn't help me, he said he would have the local property manager reach out. It took a while for this to happen and during the time, I was able to call the resort itself and they were kind enough to help us out, even though we didn't rent directly through them. Also they wouldn't allow us to even request a "late checkout" on our final day. We stayed here on closing weekend, so closing day was our checkout, meaning there was no one checkin in after us. But, in Vacasa's paperwork (somewhere I didn't read) it says you must request a late checkout a minimum of 2 days ahead of time. We've stayed at almost every property in big sky a decade, and never come across this. Going forward, I won't say "never", but I will try to avoid booking with a Vacasa managed property in favor of Big sky directly, or an actual local property management company.

Perfect Location needs work

The location of the unit is perfectly situated at the base. The unit itself needs updating though. All of the furniture is dated and appears to be original to the unit decades old. The shower curtain was moldy and the heating registers coated in dirt. The dishes and utensils were serviceable but minimal place settings. The appliances were also serviceable but cracked and dented and more than well worn. Given choice I would not stay at this unit again but if it was the last available I would not turn it down.

Great location, but a bit dated

The location is great. Not really a true ski in/out because it’s a large high rise condo type place so you do have to haul gear a considerable way since it’s like a hotel. Very hard to get reservations at any of the nearby restaurants, so plan ahead. The bathrooms are very dated, but the kitchen was new.

Super convenient location

We love being right there in Mountain Village and able to walk right to the lifts. The two-bath, one-bedroom suite with Murphy bed in the living room was perfect for my husband and me and our daughter.

Great stay!

Wonderful visit, well-appointed unit with a VERY attentive owner who immediately helped with a few things our family needed. Only reason we didn't give five stars: some in our party didn't love the location of the unit that is on the second floor just above the turnaround/entrance to the building. Got a bit loud when tour busses pulled up throughout the week - I imagine in the winter not an issue at all as the door/windows wouldn't be open. Otherwise, a fantastic unit that made for a perfect Big Sky vacation spot.
