This property is perfect! From the friendly, responsive, kind and attentive host to the peaceful surroundings and excellent accommodations for 2! We enjoyed every bit of our stay only wishing we could have stayed longer and had more time to just relax by the water and fire pit. We will come back!
This is my third stay at this cabin! It was beautiful as always, serene and relaxing. The host is kind and considerate, giving a heads up when needed and very responsive. Thank you!
The Twig is an excellent place to stay - private, peaceful, relaxing - and a great place to de-stress. And Mindy, is an excellent host. I highly recommend The Twig in Poetry! And, yes, Mindy, I will be back. Thank you so much!
Stayed for an anniversary, and it was wonderful! Gorgeous and clean, and the view was right over the pond. Wildlife watching and sitting around the fire pit were wonderful, and we were close enough to Rockwall and Terrell to eat or shop. The host was attentive but gave us plenty of privacy. Thank you so much!

This was our second visit to this property, and it was just as beautiful and peaceful. The property is incredibly clean and well stocked with all the necessities. The host is kind and responsible, but she gives you all the privacy you need to have a relaxing visit. Thank you again!
Peaceful weekend spent at The Twig. Decor is beautiful and property is magical first thing in the morning- the view from the king bed is rare and beautiful!
We enjoyed the fire pit and the abundance of wildlife we saw while sitting on the patio and drinking coffee.
The Twig is equipped with everything you need for a getaway- and the space is so cozy with thoughtful touches throughout.
We will definitely be back.
Awesome place to stay for peace & quiet. The owners you can see paid attention to detail in the rental.Very clean and provided the essentials for a weekend getaway
This is the second time me and my wife have stayed here for our anniversary and plan to come back for a 3rd time! Mindy is a great host and has a beautiful place. You will never have a bad stay here!
This is a lovely place to stay. Our first morning view was a group of Ginnie Hens making their way in front of the pond. Humming birds were fluttering at the feeder and the morning view from the porch with a cup of coffee was just what we needed. The interior of the cabin is very well done, Mindy has paid great attention to the details to make you comfortable.
We were in town for a short visit, but plan to return and take advantage of the trail heads and throwing a line into the pond.
Thank you David and Mindy for sharing your little cabin in the woods.

My husband and I came here for our little honeymoon and we absolutely LOVED it!! It was a perfect little place for us and it was very clean!! We definitely hope to be able to come back for many anniversaries in the future!
Mindy’s place was a perfect getaway. I needed a couple nights to just quietly relax. I spent time reading, fishing, and hiking on the property. It was beautiful and just what I needed. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed. Also check out Smoakhouse BBQ nearby, great stuff!
This is a beautifully maintained property not far from Dallas. It was a great get away to relax at after the holiday and ring in the New Year! We had fun fishing, walking around trails, sitting by the fire and watching nature. We recommend this place to relax, refresh and recharge !
The Twig is a peaceful getaway. Wonderful views of the sunrise and sunset. Having a pond to fish and relax was amazing. The home itself was decorated beautifully and very clean! Mindy and her husband were very personable and sweet. We had such a good time there and we will definitely being going back!

About the host
Hosted by Mindy
My husband and I enjoy wildlife photography and traveling. As we enjoy different lodging experiences, we take mental notes of what "works" and try to translate that feeling in our short term rental.
Why they chose this property
We have lived on this property for 12 years. In 2019, we converted an existing building to become a short term rental. The Twig is situated very close to our 1/4 acre pond. If you're lucky you will see deer and other wildlife, as well as water fowl that come to visit. Our hope is that visitors will enjoy a comfortable "slow down" for a few days. Evening hours spent around the fire pit seem to be a favorite of our guests.
