Our stay at Baan Ganeesha
The property and houses were beautiful! We loved the privacy of the yard and pool.. our only issue was getting around. The property was not in walkable proximity to anything as advertised. We loved it, and managed to get rides etc...but the property is way off the beaten path.
This was a great place to stay. The location is close to everything to see and close to the airport. The property is fun and clean and well kept. Would definitely recommend!
Well let me start with the location of the house. On VRBO the house location on map is just east of the center of town. In reality it is 12 km (according to google) south of downtown. I contacted the owner about the house address because I was trying to arrange a golf trip and needed transportation. Never got a physical address till we landed. In fact, our taxi driver had to talk to a thai speaking person the manager put on the phone to figure out how to get there.
Once we got to the house we met the manager. He said hello and took us on a house tour. The first impression was the yard and pool was smaller than it looked in the picture, no big deal. The pool was in need of a cleaning. The kitchen was detached from the main house. The manager told us to keep doors closed or birds would fly in and poop everywhere. One of the bedrooms (detached over garage) had a broken door latch so it couldn't be closed shut or locked. Once the quick tour was over we noticed either food or blood smeared on the door by kitchen table. There was a black berry type item under the living room table. The couch had a 18 inch stain (looked like urine).
The owner will tell you I was angry before I should up, untrue. I guess wanting an address is too much to ask. The group immediately decided that they were uncomfortable staying at the house and wanted to leave, I agreed. We started looking immediately for somewhere else to stay. The owner became very defensive when I contacted him about the house.

Lovely house, terrible host
This house really is nicer than it looks in the pictures, but it’s very far out of Chiang Mai. The host is completely unresponsive. Really just negligent when it comes to things like letting you know where keys will be before check in, or responding if something goes wrong; which can be stressful, particularly if traveling with kids. The area where the house is has little to offer. The nearby coffee shop seems to have closed so there is nothing at all within walking distance. Ginger Farm is nice for families with great food. Taxis can be hard to get (recommend using Grab) and most restaurants do t deliver this far out on Food Panda. You really need your own car. Really enjoyed the house itself but think the downside of location and unhelpful host are too great — wouldn’t recommend.
This is a great property once you figure out where everything is. Very clean and ample room for everyone ! The main house has 2 great air conditioned rooms upstairs, with a 3rd self contaimed room above the kitchen and a 4th above the garage/storage shed. If you're looking for coffee and breakfast in the morning head out to the right and follow the bend in the road to the left for a coffee shop and a few steps farther and you'll get to a spot that has great food!
Le charme infini des maisons traditionnelles thaïlandaises, entièrement en teck, autour d’un bassin ombragé ou l’on coule des heures heureuses.
Merci à Thierry pour sa gentillesse et sa flexibilité.

It most ways this was a great location. Some maintenance items need attention. But all in all, very satisfactory.
