Enjoy a truly secluded lodging experience in this newly appointed, historic farmhouse surrounded by contemporary art and antique furnishings. The ca. 1870 farmhouse and adjacent log barn are nestled in the rolling hills and stone outcroppings of Tuscarawas County, Ohio. The farmhouse offers views of two lakes with easy access to swimming, boating, fishing, and hiking. Tucked away on our 300-acre family farm, the farmhouse and surrounding property offers the outdoor enthusiast firepits, picnic shelters, a lake beach, volleyball, tetherball, baseball, and basketball. For the indoor enthusiast, the farmhouse supplies all of the modern conveniences of home including wifi, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, luxury bedding, and contemporary bathrooms.
Whatever your style or preference, we aim to make your stay at our property a truly unique and aesthetically pleasing experience.

Located within the heart of Ohio’s Amish country - just nine miles from Sugarcreek and nineteen miles from Berlin - our 300-acre farm and farmhouse offer convenience to great area attractions, but most of all prized, private tranquility and seclusion. Come get away to a different era or relax with modern amenities. Sit on the front porch, screened porch or patio and feel the serenity of being within nature’s solitude. Imagine a time when things moved slower, life was less complicated, and we maintained a direct connection to nature. Experience sleeping on an authentic rope-bed or spread out on a contemporary queen-sized mattress. We offer a great location to read, write, make art, hike, observe nature or just relax.

Whether you are looking for a getaway by yourself, as a couple or with your entire family, we can accommodate you. The farmhouse provides sleeping arrangements for up to six adults. The first floor has an eat-in kitchen, living room with extra eating area, and a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and private bath. The second floor contains a bathroom and two bedrooms with two full-sized rope-beds, a single rope-bed, and a trundle bed - all with contemporary mattresses. Additional amenities include a DVD player, Smart TV, games, and microwave. There are also laundry facilities in the basement for your convenience during weekly stays.

Quiet retreat

Amazing Home & Property

The home was an incredible mix of primitive furniture, floors and cabinets and fascinating, eclectic artwork. We hiked a portion of the 300 acres and loved the terrain and views. Doug and Jen were perfect hosts. I highly recommend this VRBO and hope to return.

Wonderful getaway!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Very peaceful property in a beautiful setting. We fished, kayaked, played yard games and just enjoyed being away from our otherwise busy lives. Mom's 85th!

Doug and Jennifer were wonderful hosts! Answered all of our questions within minutes.The farmhouse was just as described...My mom loved reminiscing about times past in this historic farmhouse. We loved shopping at nearby Amish country and celebrating her 85th Birthday! My husband and son enjoyed the lake and caught many catch and release fish! Quiet setting, not a sole in sight. We look forward to coming back!

An Oasis in the Forest

We had an amazing time. From the first moment of arrival with a welcome surprise, to the last moment of departure with a goodbye phone call, the setting, facility and hosts' hospitality could not have been better.This is a beautiful location with multiple amenities outside within steps,like fishing, hiking, frisbee golf, playground equipment, etc.Even inside the home it is an artistic adventure.We loved every minute, and would provide a 100% recommendation.

What a place!

Well the weather was not great the farmhouse and surroundings made up for it. Caught a few fish. Took a hike! Saw deer and Turkey all out our window! Would definitely like to visit again! Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven!

Amazing Getaway

Many thanks for a restful yet adventurous two-day getaway that met the needs of each person in our family. Hubby and I felt peace and rest in the surroundings of nature. The kids got the adventure and excitement from the lake and the many critters. The home with its simplicity and beauty is truly a work of art. It was super clean and well-maintained. We hope to stay again for a three-nighter.

Wonderful get away

We spent three days and had a wonderful time. The house was awesome, loved the decor. We found eggs, milk, muffins, cereal and orange juice in the fridge when we arrived, which was a nice surprise. We relaxed by the fire, fished every day, took hikes through the woods. Looked for Big Foot with the kids, we couldn’t have asked for a better time. The place is secluded but close enough to drive to Amish towns and be there within 15-20 minutes. We are definitely making a return trip soon

Clean, quiet, comfy, inspiring

This place is amazing! I don’t remember being somewhere so quiet and peaceful with no distant traffic noise. Fish jumping, birdsong, and footsteps of a passing deer now and then were the only sounds we could hear. Hiking trails on the property were really fun, and challenging enough to give us a light workout daily. We wanted to get away to a place where we could find some creative inspiration and this place was perfect! May have to book a longer stay next time. Hosts were very welcoming. Thank you!

Perfect Getaway

We absolutely loved our stay at the farmhouse! Super clean, well kept, and beautiful property. Beautiful artwork and decor in the house, comfortable furniture and bedding, and even toys for the kids to play with. Everything you need for a relaxing evening by the fire is provided. The owners left delicious muffins, eggs, milk, orange juice, butter, apples, and bananas. Our little ones loved the paddle boat rides and playing in the sand on the beach! We loved all of the little details that made our stay even more amazing than expected. It was so quiet and relaxing...all you could hear outside were the birds, bugs at night, and frogs. Perfect for a relaxing getaway! Doug called us after we got there to make sure everything was okay and make sure we didn't have any questions, then we met him when he was out mowing. Thank You Doug and Jenn for sharing your beautiful property with everyone. This is by far the nicest vacation rental we've ever stayed in. I wish we could have stayed longer! We can't wait to come back!

Relaxation, relaxation, relaxation

We arrived at this beautiful property and were immediately taken back to a simpler life (with all the modern conveniences mind you, lol) We had our 3 grandkids with us and they had acres and acres to run, play, laugh, or just sit and talk by the bonfire that we had going morning, noon and night. We saw deer every day and turkeys. The privacy of the property allowed us time with our grandkids that wasn't inhibited by making them be quiet or still. They fished and swam and learned to kayak, all the while squealing with joy and us grandparents let them! They ran free and they loved it! They explored the woods behind the house to see if they could sneak up on some deer, but they were definitely not stealthy enough, lol. Hubby and I sat by the fire and watched with glee as this property allowed them to be kids!!

We all enjoyed fishing and paddling around the lake. We loved being able to have campfires several nights. We enjoyed watching all the deer, turkeys and chipmunks. It was all so relaxing and peaceful.

Beautiful and secluded from all distractions, close to Amish country for shopping. The charcoal grill was small, would have been nice to have a larger gas grill. Enjoyed the screened in porch and the fire pit! Great place to stay to get away from life for a while.
