Welcome to Langseth Lodge!

Langseth Lodge, a year-round cabin rental, is located on the shores of Lake Ocheda just outside Worthington, MN and offers a quiet, peaceful getaway for your family vacation or event.

Langseth Lodge is a great place to relax and unwind. Lake Ocheda is a rather shallow lake and is therefore great for swimming, kayaking, canoeing and floating on an inner tube. Lake Okabena, just several miles away, is perfect for boating, waterskiing, jet skiing, and windsurfing. Lake Okabena also offers great opportunities for fishing and ice fishing.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lodge again. The lake views are beautiful and the space fits our family well. We especially like the dining area where we can enjoy meals together. The lake is perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing! The property is very peaceful!

We loved our stay. There were a few inconsistencies on the website (for example it said there was a keurig and had check out time at a different time than we were told verbally). The water wasn't beautifully clean like some Minnesota lakes but it was so fun to have access to canoes to be on the water. We loved our stay and exploring the property

Perfect house for large group

Beautiful quiet view of lake. Attached overflow dining room was wonderful with buffet table for serving and plenty of seating. Air conditioning throughout. Had the most kitchen and bath accessaries I have ever experienced at a rental. Upper and lower living rooms was a bonus. Property manager was helpful and courteous.

Girls’ Weekend

Such a wonderful place for a quick girls’ weekend! Beautiful views, sunsets and the perfect quiet space for our girls’ weekend. We loved the dining hall right off the kitchen, giving us plenty of space for our “at home retreat”. Paul was a fantastic host and always easy to contact. Great central location. Definitely recommend a stay at the lodge!

Relaxing Rental

This was the perfect rental for meeting in the middle of Nebraska and the cities. Extremely spacious, well stocked and peaceful. They have more stuff than you would ever need and more. The dining space is great, the outdoor spaces are perfect and all of the patios are very nice and relaxing. Lots of games, and water activities. You could spend hours just searching the beach for cool artifacts and rocks. Words just don’t do this place justice. We hope to come back soon!!The owners are amazing and were very communicative from the start. Be sure to check out their garden center!

Family get together

There were 4 of us and we all LOVED it! The scenery was beautiful! The house was perfect. Enjoyed time by the fire and the water. Beautiful sunsets. Was able to catch an eagle flying over. Paul (the owner) was the best. He even came got a fire going for us when we got home from our outing for the day. Can’t say enough about this VRBO.

A quick stay with a beautiful view

We had the pleasure of staying one night while we were in town for a vet appointment. Wish it could have been longer! Paul was so generous - built a fire in the fireplace, gave us a tour, and warmly welcomed my younger son and our 2 dogs. We had such fun walking the private beach and looking for rocks. Plenty of space for us all in this peaceful, quiet location. It was pretty chilly, so we didn’t spend much time outdoors, though we’re wishing we could have taken advantage of the fire pit on the beach! We’ll have to come back in the summer!

We really enjoyed our stat here. The kids had a lot of fun on the property swimming, canoeing, collecting seashells. The sunsets were stunning. The house was comfy and had everything we needed. We hope to come back some day.

Great place to relax

I had a handbell event in the area and was looking for someplace to stay for my choir of seven people. I found this gem where we’d all be able to stay together. We arrived at different times and the homeowner greeted us, gave us a tour of the property and even started a bonfire so we could enjoy the gorgeous sunset. Definitely recommend staying here. Also follow the driving instructions provided by the host and do not follow your phone map if it takes you down the minimum maintenance road!

About the host

Host profile image
Paul has spent 50 of his sixty years on the property. Original, non modern cabins were built on the site in the 1940's and were rented on a year round basis by Paul's father and grandfather. Paul and his siblings spent hours every day in the summer on the beach, lake shore, swimming or sailing on the lake. The original cabins fell into decline during the 70's and 80's.

The current lodge was built in 1995 by Paul's father with help from cousins and family. The lumber was sourced and milled locally. Originally, the cabin was used for family and church functions.

Leanne and Paul were married in 2012. They inherited the property in 2019. Leanne and her adult children were instrumental in the redecorating and marketing of the lodge.

Why they chose this property

Quiet, secluded, private lake shore location with beach and fire ring.
Lake on west side, native wetland to east side. Lots of wildlife and bird watching.


What makes this property unique

Handicap accessible ground floor. Large food serving area with seating for 20 people inside with unlimited outdoor space. One fire pit is located near the lodge and another large fire ring area is on the beach for evening camp fire, hot dog roasting and s'more making. Round Lake winery is 6 miles away.
