About this property

Ideal Location between Bozeman and Big Sky, MT

The Gallatin Canyon is considered one of the most scenic areas in Montana, full of wildlife and adventure. This is the perfect in-between spot for a day ski trip at Big Sky Ski Resort or a day of shopping and nightlife in Bozeman. Hiking, biking, rafting, skiing, hot springs and bison and bear sightings are all minutes away!!

The home is in the Gallatin Canyon, off Highway 191, across from Storm Castle and the Gallatin River. The standalone home is outfitted with high-end furniture, new appliances and high-speed internet via Starlink.

There is a king-size bed in the bedroom and queen-size sofa bed in the living room. The fully equipped kitchen has gourmet cooking in mind. Large refrigerator with an ice maker, gas range and oven and full-size microwave. Full-size stack washer and dryer are on site and stocked with clothes soap and dryer sheets.

The view from the living room window is of the dramatic cliffs of Storm Castle and the Gallatin River, a location that was featured in the movie, "A River Runs Through It".

The home is ideally located about mid-way between Bozeman and Big Sky, Montana. Enjoy exploring Bozeman, Big Sky, Yellowstone, or just take a relaxing hike right out the back door! A 5-minute drive north gets you to Spanish Creek which has a public access road that drives through part of Ted Turner's Flying D Ranch which has the nation's largest free roaming buffalo herds along with numerous other wildlife. Or, if you are more adventurous, three of the Canyon's top hikes (Storm Castle, Lava Lake, and Hell Roaring Creek) are within 5 minutes of the house!

Items included in the rental are: Coffee maker, French Roast Press, Pancake Griddle, Tea Pot, Large selection of Pots & Pans, Serving Ware, Mixing Bowls, Hand Mixer, Measuring cups and spoons, Cookie Sheets, Blender and Toaster. Bathroom includes towels, hand towels, face cloths, makeup remover pads, Q-tips, hair dryer, paper products, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We also supply a large variety of spices, sugar, coffee, salt & pepper and olive oil. Placemats, cloth and paper napkins and paper towels.

In the summer you can enjoy sitting out on the back deck, BBQ your dinner on the grill and watch the deer wander the property.

A full-size desk is in a separate workspace area. Making wifi calls is as easy as enabling that option on your smartphone. There is free high-speed internet (Starlink) and a smart TV. Use your account for Netflix, Prime Video, ESPN Plus, Disney, YouTube, and others on the large-screen TV. Enjoy a variety of board games, puzzles and books that are in the home.

Location: We are conveniently located half-way between Bozeman and Big Sky, across the road from the Gallatin River. Our mileage marker is 65550 on Highway 191.

The house is 30 minutes from Big Sky Ski Resort, 25 minutes from Bozeman, and 30 minutes from the Bozeman/Yellowstone International Airport. It is a 1 hour and 15-minute drive to the entrance of West Yellowstone. Skiing, Zip Lines, Blue Ribbon Fly Fishing on the Gallatin River, hiking trails galore, River Float Trips and horseback riding are all just minutes away.

We enjoy the company of neighbors that are about 300 yards from the house (one of them is a Deputy Sheriff), so we ask that noise be kept to a minimum.

Great getaway
Very clean and nice place to stay. This was our fault for not reading the fine print, but arrived late at night in the dark and there is no cell service at this location. We could not pull up instructions. Had to drive 20min down valley to get a few bars to download and take pictures of codes and Wi-Fi. The only other issue was it was very cold the night we arrived and the place took until morning to warm up. Wished they would have warmed it up before we arrived. Otherwise, a great place with everything you need to relax.

Perfect getaway
The cabin was central to everything we wanted to see. In the backyard we saw 4 moose come down through the trees. Plenty of dishes and towels. Cars on the road out front were a little noisy at times

You can access the best of both worlds in a nice rural setting, with easily accessible fly fishing, hiking, skiing and snowboarding, and much more. Montana is know for outdoor pursuits, and your proximity to Federally designated Wilderness (Lee Metcalf Wilderness), and 2 National Forests (Beaverhead and Gallatin) make this property an ideal basecamp for your adventures.
