Gorgeous cabin located at the top of a hill right in the middle of a coffee farm, complety surrouned by spectacular views in all directions. You will also enjoy our tropical forest, trekking, finca food, and silence.

The cabin was built on top of the same location where the old home of the coffee farm's estate manager was standing, elements of that house have been kept. The cabin is a well built house with all structural safety precautions, a beautiful "Conacaste" wood roof topped with "teja" or Spanish style tiles.

The terrace and the interior of the cabin have an 180° degress spectacular view, to the West, the Cordillera del Bálsamo until it reaches the end, then you can see the Santa Ana and Izalco volcanoes; to the North, Honduras; and to the East the Quezaltepeque volcano y the large crater of El Boquerón. You will be able to appreciate the sunrise and the sunset from one location.

Antique doors and shutters made of Conacaste wood frame your views from inside the cabin. Two large spacious rooms, one Queen size bed, one single and one sofa-bed, flanked by a large antique armoir. Private bathroom with a shower and hot water, gas and firewood cookstoves, a refrigerator, coffee machine, and everything else you need to be comfortable.

Old world charm!
We throughly enjoyed are stay at this lovely mountain top casita. The vistas down the mountains and up the valleys from the patio were stunning. There were many spaces around the property to enjoy a morning coffee, or an evening glass of wine as the sun set. Great attention was taken to retain the historic charm of the casita, while providing all the modern essentials. The location was close to some very nice local restaurants with great views. I would highly recommend staying at this property. It was our favorite stay in Central America. Debbie C.

When I was a teenager back in the Seventies as I was learning to surf in El Zonte, my dream was to be able to sleep up in the cool mountains of our Finca Santa Lucía and then go down to surf every morning. The realities of our country back then did not allow me to do it. Slow forward almost 40 years and now I can do it. The wait was worthwhile even though now I cannot surf three times a day:)

Finca Santa Lucía is a third generation coffee farm shared now with those that want to experience a truly spectacular experience up in the mountains of El Salvador, facing the ocean.

Nicole, German, came to El Salvador in the 80s and felt in love with the country, the ocean, the Finca, and well, with Jorge too:) Our weekends here, together with our kids, are unforgettable.

Why they chose this property

Finca Santa Lucía is located on La Cordillera de El Bálsamo or "La Cumbre de Comasagua". A high altitude mountain range that travels west to east parallel to our Pacific Ocean western coastline where our best surf beaches are located.

The ride up from the coast is short (40 minutes) and breathtakingly beautiful. You will travel from our lowland, hot, and lava formed coastline to high altitude coffee farm plantations and tropical forests. Late afternoons the chilly weather and fog bathe the mountain range, giving it a mystical aura. The whole Cumbre de Comasagua is still an undiscovered secret even by our local Salvadorean population.

Finca Santa Lucía is a 500 acres natural refuge with half of it kept as a private natural reserve. The cabaña was built right at the top of a hill of what used to be the coffe farms' "casco" (agricultural headquearters), surrounded by spectacular views in all directions, centenary pine trees, trekking pathways, and an unmatcheable climate.

In our farm you will feel relaxed, enjoy a true Finca Lifestyle surrounded by nature, and good finca food. Guided trekking tours are available.

What makes this property unique

Finca Santa Lucía sits on the eastern side of the Cordilelra de El Bálsamo or "Cumbre de Comasagua" and is only 20 minutes away from our capital city, San Salvador. The "Cordillera" or "Cumbre" has been an overlooked secret destination for many decades, but the area has been enjoying more visitors during the last years as restaurants and accommodations pop up.

Our finca Santa Lucía is only 40 minutes away from our western coastline and the surf beaches of El Tunco/El Sunzal, El Zonte and KM59. This makes it a natural, relaxing, and cool weather retreat for beach tourists and surfers that want a day's break from the extreme heat and sun. It is actually so close that one could "go down" surfing to the beach in the morning, have brunch, drive up in the afternoon to enjoy a good regionally grown cup of coffee in front of a specctacular view at 1,250 metres above sea level (4,000 feet). End your day with some hot Pupusas (our delicious cheese and bean filled tortillas), cool weather and clean air, and a good night's sleep. Next day you just do it all over again:)

The Finca is also only 5 minutes away from the Cordilelra's capital, Comasagua, a sleepy coffee farming town with all basic ammenities available. We are a short ride to other mountain towns such as Tamanique , Talnique, Jayaque, and Chiltiupán. Minutes away are also restaurants serving good food, ambience, and views so far as your eyes can see. The whole area is safe and guarded by rural police stations planted along the road.
