About this property

Les Cornillaux - Leynes

Jocelyne, a retired winemaker, welcomes you to an authentic 19th-century winemaker's house, a fully restored former family home nestled on a south-facing hillside by the roadside, in the heart of the bucolic vineyards of the renowned Saint-Véran appellation, in the unspoiled Mâconnais countryside (protected as a ZNIEFF area for its rich flora and fauna). This residential hamlet sits on the first slopes of the picturesque village of Leynes, a charming and perfectly preserved wine-growing village typical of the Côtes Mâconnaises, boasting a remarkable heritage (12th-century Romanesque church, several castles, beautifully restored historic houses, wash houses, etc.). Nestled in an amphitheater within a magnificent cirque of vineyards beneath the wooded ridges of the Bois de Fée (a small protected forest within a Natura 2000 zone, renowned for its exceptionally rich ecosystem), in the gentle Arlois Valley (the only one in Burgundy whose unique geological features produce both white, rosé, and red wines from southern Burgundy and northern Beaujolais), facing a vast, wild forest massif, overlooking the Saône plain with the Bugey and Lyonnais mountains as a backdrop, the village enjoys a sublime, picture-postcard landscape and vineyard setting, adorned with splendid panoramic viewpoints (on a clear day, you can glimpse the Alps and the Vercors, all the way to Mont Blanc!). Spacious and comfortable gîte. A soothing, rustic country charm, blending vintage appeal with the unique atmosphere of a former rural home. Enclosed gravel courtyard with a sunny terrace. Pleasant balcony offering lovely unobstructed views of the surrounding vineyards and the village. Composition: Semi-detached cottage adjoining barns and garages next to the owner's house (completely independent). Wi-Fi (fiber optic). Gas central heating. The cottage is on the first floor (accessed via an external staircase): living room/kitchen/lounge, 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed 140x190cm / the other with two single beds 90x190cm), bathroom (bathtub), separate WC. Courtyard with terrace, balcony, bicycle storage, and private parking. All amenities, including a supermarket, are 8 km away. Picture-perfect setting! Stay at the foot of the magnificent landscape jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson, a designated "Grand Site de France", in the heart of the bucolic vineyards of the renowned Saint-Véran appellation, close to all amenities! Authentic 19th-century winemaker's house, fully renovated, nestled on the heights of the picturesque wine-growing village of Leynes, perfectly preserved and full of charm, 8 km from the market town of Crêches-sur-Saône (with a large shopping area including supermarkets) and 13 km from Mâcon, the southernmost city of Burgundy, nestled on the banks of the Saône (river marina on site). In the heart of the rolling Mâconnais countryside, nestled within the gentle Arlois Valley (protected as a Natura 2000 and ZNIEFF site for its rich ecosystems), overlooking the Saône Valley in a sublime landscape of vineyard-covered hillsides bordering a vast expanse of wild forest, not far from the famous "Val Lamartinien" (named after the renowned French poet and politician, a distinguished guest of the estate) and the South Burgundy massif. An exceptionally privileged location at the southernmost tip of Burgundy, at the crossroads of the vineyards of southern Mâconnais and northern Beaujolais (the world's first vineyard recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark), ideally situated on the Burgundy Wine Route (extending various Beaujolais wine routes), the Romanesque Churches Trail, the "Cycloroute 71" (Saône-et-Loire cycling tour), and a marked mountain biking route (connected to a large mountain biking area). traversing the massif), marked footpaths in "green walks" (a very extensive network of similar hiking and mountain biking trails in the area), the GR76 (connected to the superb GRP "Crus, Vignobles et Monts du Beaujolais"), 7 km from the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" Green Way (and its remarkable "Tunnel du Bois Clair" located 20 km away, the longest former railway tunnel in France open to a Green Way at 1.6 km), 8 km from the Voie Bleue along the Saône (adjacent to the EuroVelo 17 and "ViaRhôna" cycle routes) and 19 km from the renowned GTM mountain bike route, certified "FFC Mountain Biking" (Grand Tour of the Massif Sud Bourgogne connected to an extensive mountain bike network crisscrossing the massif). At the crossroads of the Rhône and Ain departments, the Mâconnais, Beaujolais, and Clunisois-Tournugeois regions (designated a "Land of Art and History") and the Bresse region of the Ain department. Ideal for exploring the surrounding area (A6 motorway + connection to the A40 motorway & RCEA highway 5.5 km away): 8 km from the Mâcon Loché TGV train station, 14 km from the Touroparc Zoo animal park, 15 km from "Hameau Dubœuf" (Europe's first wine and vineyard theme park), 26 km from Vonnas (the gastronomic village of Georges Blanc), 27 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 30 km from the famous abbey town of Cluny, 36 km from Villefranche-sur-Saône, 39 km from the medieval village of Brancion, 44 km from Tournus, 47 km from La Clayette, and 49 km from Bourg-en-Bresse. A perfect base for an affordable stay with plenty to enjoy! Ideal for couples or families!
