About this property

Hilltop Cottage is the perfect home away from home for your stay in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina. Convenient location on HWY 9 only 5 miles from TIEC, 10 minutes to adorable Landrum, SC, and 20 minutes to beautiful Lake Lure. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath house has all the modern amenities you need for comfort and relaxation. Situated on 11 acres of land, you will enjoy peace and tranquility and might even be joined by some grazing deer for your morning coffee.

The open living and dining room areas provide plenty of room for the whole family. Separate seating areas in the living room give everyone their own space whether watching TV, reading a book or playing some of the card games you'll find in the house. The sofa opens up to a queen-size sleeper. The dining room table easily accommodates 6+ folks helping you bring back family dinner time!

We stream all of our media at Hilltop Cottage. Unlimited, high-speed WiFi and TVs equipped with Amazon Firesticks will give you access to all of your streaming channels. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed with a memory foam topped mattress. Talk about comfy! There is a TV in this room as well. En-suite bath with a GIANT shower completes the master experience.

The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with a new mattress. There is also a TV with Firestick in this bedroom.

The third bedroom has two twins with brand new hybrid memory-foam mattresses.

The full bath in the hallway is beautifully updated, spacious, and clean.

The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to make meals. There is a Keurig brewer, drip coffee brewer, and toaster oven in addition to all of the traditional appliances. Among other things, in the cabinets, you'll find Cuisinart pots and pans along with dishes to accommodate 6+ people.

Outdoor spaces included a covered dining area with grill and table seating for 4. The side porch has comfy outdoor "living room" furniture where everyone can gather and relax.

Hilltop Cottage is the perfect place for folks who want a peaceful setting close to area amenities. Super sweet and clean. We look forward to welcoming you!

Wonderful Rental!

This home was so cute and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable. The booking looks just as it does on the vrbo site. We stayed for a horse show at TIEC and it was super convenient.

Tryon House

The house is in a great location to attend either FENCE or TIEC. The beds are comfortable and I appreciate having a walk in shower. It is nice that it is pet friendly but you still have to pay a Property Damage Fee on top of the Pet Fee which I thought was excessive for a two night stay. But I would stay here again but maybe leave the dog at home.

Cozy & Clean Cottage

Our family truly enjoyed our stay over Labor Day weekend at Hilltop Cottage. The location was quiet and convenient. We visited the Intl Equestrian Center around the corner and Sky Top Orchard. The house was comfortable and professionally staged and cleaned. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious with quality linens. We appreciated the conveniences of the kitchen and ample dining space for our family. The porch and carport were handy for loading in the rain. Thank you for the hospitality!

This is the 2nd VRBO rental property I have owned in Columbus. After selling the first in the Fall of 2020, I decided to buy another! I am a lifelong hunter/jumper rider so being close to TIEC is important to me. I live in MA full time but travel to North Carolina often because it really is my favorite place on earth. I hope you enjoy your stay whether you're in town for horse shows or simply enjoying the beautiful foothills of North Carolina.

Why they chose this property

Close to all the area amenities but in a very peaceful, secluded setting. I love Lake Lure so being able to get right on Hwy 9 and be there in 20 minutes is just a blessing. Close to all the area vineyards, Landrum and TIEC! Nearest airport only 40 miles away. Can't really beat the location.
