About this property

This quaint 1930's cottage has tons of personality including original hard wood floors, ship-lap interior walls, and a cozy feel of home. The kitchen has all that you need to prepare a wonderful meal. There is also an updated cooking range, new refrigerator, A/C unit and a new washer and dryer. Master bedroom is a King bed and guest room has a Queen bed, both with high quality linens and pillows. The small, well appointed jack and jill bathroom was recently updated, pictures are accurate. You will find everything you need for a day at the beach - beach chairs, towels and an outdoor shower to rinse off those sandy toes. The sun porch is a great space for reading and napping and has a daybed . The large yard has several trees offering shade from the sun, a table and chairs to enjoy a mean and an outdoor fire pit to sit around in the evening. There is a propane BBQ Grill and charcoal grill for your convenience. The home has off street parking for 2 cars. The beach is a 3 minute walk (400 feet)from the home. There is a free Island Trolley that drives the length of the island with a stop right at the corner of Gulf Drive (our corner). Publix Supermarket is 2.4 miles north along Gulf Drive.
We are only 2 short blocks from Bridge Street - Dining, shopping, mini golf, a pier, and many other activities.

Beach Week

My husband and I had a wonderful first time visit to AMI at Mary’s cottage. It was clean and in a great location to get to the beach, restaurants or even over to Longboat. We will stay again.

Lovely Cottage

Quaint, old Florida style cottage. All the amenities you would need in a fabulous location. I absolutely adore the cottages over the new condos. It gives you comfort and feel of what true Florida is, including the neighbors. The property owner was more than accommodating,so easy to communicate with and if it wasn’t booked already for next year, I would be staying here again! (Only negative was yard was not filled with sand. Kid issue not mine) Plenty of towels,chairs,beach toys,blankets and parking!

So Sweet!

Had a fabulous time at Sweet Retreat. Here are the Pros and Cons of our stay: PROS: -Clean, bright, airy and well appointed -Well equipped kitchen with a good selection of glasses, dishes, cutlery, utensils, pots and pans that were in good condition and knives that were sharp. -Up to date appliances that worked well. -Air conditioning worked well -Good water pressure and nice shower head -Comfortable beds and linens -Lovely reading/relaxing nook -Lots of beach towels and beach toys, including beach chairs, umbrella, cooler bag -Beautiful large back yard with patio table and umbrella, string lights and a fire "kettle" -FABULOUS location. Literally 400 ft to the amazing beach with gorgeous sunsets, and right around the corner from plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. -Publix is a 7 minute drive, or 40 minute walk away -Host is GREAT to deal with. Prompt replies to emails if we had questions and a very quick resolution to a small issue (backyard string lights weren't working properly, and they were fixed within a day or two) NICE TOUCHES: tasteful island decor, night lights in all the rooms, lots of towels, good supply of starter items (soaps, paper towels etc), games and puzzles, outdoor shower head to rinse off sand/salt CONS: -Hardly any. -Shower itself is a bit small, but more the entrance to the stall than the inside of the stall WISH LIST: -A portable drying rack for items not put in the dryer -Salad spinner We will definitely go back!

Very nice property, even thought it's older.

Loved everything about this property, even though it is older, except there is no hot tub as is listed on the site, and the shower is very small. Otherwise, we had a great time and loved the short walk to the pier where the Oyster Bar is, watching the boats and the pelicans.

Lovely Beach Cottage

We loved this quaint beach cottage! It is located within a short walk to the Gulf and many shopping and dining options. We loved the decor of the cottage and the attention to detail. We would definitely stay again!
