The location of the house was the best part of the rental. It was between the trail and the creek where we spent most of our time. We enjoyed watching the eagle flying overhead! The house could use some TLC.....spots on carpets, needs curtains or blinds in first floor bathroom, and bedroom upstairs. The pots and pans were in rough shape. Also, mice got into our food stored on counter and patio floor needs leveled.

Hello,
Thank you for staying with us! We will be sure to address these things. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience.

Location was amazing! House was clean and big. Kitchen was large and adequately stocked. Many items need attention. Chairs in dining room are broken and dangerous. Broken and very dangerous deck. Portions are sunken and create a big trip hazard plus step down from deck to yard or into garage is steep and unsafe. Game room is in the garage. It was fun and temp was fine when garage doors were open. Loft is located above garage. We didn't see any air-conditioning so it would not be usable in summer months- way too hot.Checkout was at 10am which is early especially considering that guests are supposed to: 1) stip beds, wash, dry and fold all linens and towels, 2) wash, dry and put away all dishes; 3) all garbage needs to be packed up and dropped off at a local dump since there is no garbage pick-up. This seems like a lot to do in a short time, particularly when there is a significant housekeeping fee charged.
Hands down best place yet. My Family loved it. Home has everything you need. Take a Telescope, field glasses a camera and be prepared for the wildlife. Excellent time.

Thank you for staying with us. We're really glad you enjoyed your stay. Take care!
You can walk right into the creek or hop on a bike on the trail. There is a great variety of wild life in the area and a comfortable size house for the extended family.
Property was amazing. Owners were easy to reach and extremely helpful. We saw the eagle on Saturday and enjoyed fishing. No trout but a few small mouth bass were caught. We are looking forward to satying here again in the future!
Location was absolutely perfect, and the house served us well. The fifth bedroom over the garage was not made up and lack of air conditioning made it unusable for us. Intact screens and fans would help make the space usable as a bedroom. We had very high temps during our stay and the second floor of the house remained very stuffy and hot despite AC. Windows and window sills could use a good cleaning.
The house is situated on Pine Creek with the rail trail on the other side. Nice quiet spot. The house and garage were lacking a bit in cleanliness and can use some updating. Garage/game room was pretty dirty. We swept the floor and outside deck. That being said, we would probably consider renting again.
We've stayed at the Creek House two years in a row with large groups of friends for a fall bike trip weekend on the Pine Creek Rail Trail. We love the location and setting of this property and for the number of people you can fit in this place, it's a great deal.
Our one critique is the bathroom situation. If you have 10 plus people, it's difficult sharing the two bath/shower facilities... especially the one by the garage with a window and no curtains.
We chose this house for our family vacation spot and it did not disappoint! The house sits on the most stunning property between the bike/walking path and the creek. We tubed down the creek almost every day, hiked the waterfall which is directly across the creek from the house and walked the path to eat dinner at a local restaurant. We also hiked the Grand Canyon of PA and toured the Penn Caves. It is definitely in a remote area so make sure you get your groceries before you arrive and bring some Deet because you're in the woods. Minor inconveniences for the stunning view and joy of having a water park in your back yard. It was a privilege to be allowed to stay in this beautiful location!

Thank you so much for staying with us! We look forward to having you return!
The location is perfect, borders the rail trail, creek is just off back yard. The house needs updating and was not the cleanest. Some curtains were ripped and clipped together. Windows over the whole house were very dirty. The back deck is very unsafe, needs repaired. All that being said, we will rent again, just wish some of the issues could be addressed.
The house is beautiful. But we found it to be very subpar in terms of cleanliness! To us it seemed as though no one had been there for some time. It was definitely not rent ready. Animal droppings and dust and dirt and bug debris at every turn. Things were not working properly and some spots actually dangerous. This place could be absolutely gorgeous with some tlc.
Owner is not very responsive and does not provide check in instructions until “after 10am on arrival day, after last guest have left” His words not mine. VRBO requires this into 72 hrs prior to arrival.
Upon arrival, every single bed had to be made. There are not mattress pads, beds just have a fitted sheet with an old comforter. There is only 1 shower in the main house downstairs and no shower in the master, only a tub. There is a shower in the garage but was crawling with bugs and spiders and even after we cleaned it, no one wanted to use it. The pull out bed in the living room that is supposed to be “new” is old and broken. The WiFI is slow as anything and is not high speed by any stretch of the imagination. It takes a few minutes for emails to download and sync. They charge a high cleaning fee but require you to wash and put away all of your towels and sheets and take all of your trash 10 min away (the opposite of leaving the valley) upon departure. Can’t for the life of me figure out what the fee is for! There is no ice maker, no salt and pepper and basic items. Owner was up front about that and said he had no idea what the other guests had left behind. In the garage where there are 4 beds for kids really, there is no fan and no AC, so it is hot as h#$#! Are kids opted to sleep on the couch in the main house. Also the screens have big holes that bugs like to come in from. Also the thermostat is under lock and key, so what ever it is set at, that is it
