This was the second time we've stayed with Kurt and he's a delight to work with. My husband and i went with my daughter, son-in-law, and their two children and we all love the condo. The beds are comfortable and the bedding is amazing! It was so soft! The view of the lake is gorgeous; it's fun to sit on the balcony and just relax. We are looking forward to staying there again.
We spend a lot of time at Lake Mac in the Summer but never have been up in the winter. We came up to see the bald eagles at Lake Ogallala. Kurt is a very responsive host. The views of the Lake are amazing and it was so surprising that there is public access to the beach only a mile or so down the road. We liked there are not too many rules. We were not used to not having any sort of soap to wash with in the shower. Also there was a problem with the dishwasher and it smelled very bad. The grill could use a refresh but I did cook some steaks on it and they came out great! If you have any heavy luggage or full coolers to bring in prepare to have a couple of people to carry them up some steep stairs. We left our drink cooler on the lower level and had to go up and down the spiral staircase to transfer beers into the fridge. The trip on the spiral staircase gets more and more adventurous after each beer. Overall it is a nice place to stay for a weekend and if you have a big group there is plenty of room and places to sleep.
The property manager is very responsive and helpful! The condo was clean, the only reason cleanliness was 4 out of 5 was because the grill was dirty but the condo itself was spotless. We had a very wonderful stay!! Highly recommend!
Our family loved this condo, it was updated, spacious, and comfortable for 4 nights. The location is great, just a short drive to Ogallala Beach, or a 10-minute walk. We explored the lake and this was one of the nicer locations, with quite a bit of restaurant and amenities no more than 15 minutes away. Kurtis was a wonderful host and checked in regularly. We look forward to coming back!
This property was a terrific place to get together with friends. Communication with the renter was easy, the property was very clean, well appointed, comfortable and really close to the lake. Highly recommended.
We have been going to Lake McConaughy for over 25 years. It has been a favorite camping destination for us as a couple and later as a family (kids range from 23-8). I have seen Lake Mac evolve over the years from a holiday retreat to the hot spot it is currently.
We have stayed in a variety of cabins as well and definitely some are better than others.
Whitetail property is every bit as picturesque as the photos display and can easily house 10, with room to move and enjoy a place to sit/lounge inside and out. The walk or drive to Ogallala Beach isn't far and the road is not busy if you want to ride your bike, take a jog, or enjoy some fresh air.
South Beach is not a high traffic spot which was great for my wide age range family. Locals asked if the bugs were bad, which, depending on the season, bring fly spray or bug spray, but nothing more then any other camp site we've stayed in.
Chose to stay at a VRBO due to a wedding and the drive across the dam was only 8-10 minutes. Not bad and again, not near the bulk of the campers, so made it nice to get away to our quiet space to rest and sleep soundly.
Would definitely stay again!
