This was the most pet friendly place we have stayed. The host was prompt with questions and advise of places to eat and purchase items needed. The window AC units were a little noisy but keep kept the place cool had to shut the bedroom unit off to sleep. We would definitely stay here again and the area is nice enough to plan a trip just to visit the area again and stay here. Very pleased with our stay.
Host was great and took good care of us. The property was beautiful and right on the lake. Kitchen was well stocked. Lots of stairs from parking to the house but otherwise mostly flat. The neighbors were even friendly. :)
The host was welcoming and helpful. The whole place was cute and a great location to our events this weekend. We would definitely consider stating here next year when we are back for our annual event!
cute little place, the host was very friendly and helpful! we would stay again if we came back to this area!

Great little house on the lake for 2 families. Host was super responsive and helpful. House is fully stocked with cooking utensils and bedding! Plenty of games and puzzles to keep you entertained during cold days! :)
We booked for a 2 night stay for our son who had a track meet at a local college. After a check in mix up (A Vrbo issue, not our host) everything was exactly as described. Our host Matt went above and beyond to get us settled once everything was taken care of. Even bringing clean towels down late at night to make sure we had everything. We weren't there much as most of our weekend was at the track. But overall everything was great and wouldn't hesitate to book with Matt again if we are ever out that way.
Quaint cottage with an americana flair. Truly is little house on prairie lake. Amazing sunsets over the lake! Comfortable and clean. Easy to get to. Close to boat launch.
Perfect getaway on the lake!Go kayaking, fishing, or just enjoy the place. This place has everything one may neeed. Matt is just awesome and very welcoming! He spent time with us teaching us some new fishing techniques as well. Such an amazing time and place.
Beautiful place to stay. The cottage is right on the lake. Sunsets are incredible. We were so happy that we were allowed to bring our dogs along. Plenty of board and card games provided. Our host lives conveniently close by and was available for questions.

Well priced for an economical stay
The property is located in a very rural area on a lake. If you’re looking for quiet and solitude at a great price, this is your place. A little outdated, somewhat cluttered, but worth the price you pay.
Our cabin was very nice and cozy plus it came with a beautiful setting...lake front! The cabins nearby were nice as well with friendly visitors. My family and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
Had a great time at this property. It was exactly what we needed. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were a few too many cobwebs, but we're the camping type so it didn't bother us much.

Thanks you for staying. I agree with cobwebs. I walk into them frequently entering the cottage. Everyone loves the lake life including the insects. The entry door porch light will attract bugs and therefor spiders like an easy meal. I keep a broom next to the door to take care of their work. The only other option is pesticide which I’m not going to do. Thanks for being understanding. Your easy going attitude is the type of guest I’m looking to attract!
Great accommodations, great location. Outstanding host. My pets enjoyed the stay as much as I did.
Property was great. Location was awesome - on the lake. Host was tremendous. Would stay there again. Property had everything you need.

Could use a good cleaning, webs and dead bugs in corners.

The scientific name is Halyomorpha Halys or as Michiganders refer to them "stink bugs" they are harmless and an invasive species. They will forever be an issue in the fall. They hibernate in Windowsills and siding. When the weather fluctuates cold to warm back in forth they find their way in. There is no winning this battle in an older lake cottage no matter the amount of cleaning that occurs. Unfortunately it's the same with spider webs! Lakes attract flying insects which in turn attract those that make webs. Those looking for anything different should look elsewhere, As the description state this is an older family cottage, it is cleaned regularly but not sealed like a modern home. If mild dust cobwebs insects from time to time bother you, this is not the place for you!
This is our Family's cabin that we are willing to share with you. I am a retired teacher and coach from local school. This is a property that we use as well. Instead of it sitting empty when not in use we are opening it up for the public to enjoy.
Why they chose this property
The property is located close to Albion and Olivet Colleges for families coming from out of town. It is a comfy cozy family owned cottage that should be perfect for "a guys weekend of fishing" or for the annual "ladies get away." It would be perfect for a summer vacation for those who love water sports, fishing and relaxing. The cabin is lived in and used frequently, so you can feel comfortable with pets and kids. We don't cry over spilled milk and hope our guest will reciprocate with kindness and understanding if they find a few flaws during your stay. The owner lives only a few miles away and will go above and beyond to make sure you have what is necessary to make your stay enjoyable.
