Too bad we can’t rate higher than 5! Madeleine and Paul were amazing. Both greeted us at check-in. This was Paul’s home growing up. He is a retired vigneron from CdP and his vintage wines are available for purchase. They went through everything in the apartment. From the terrace you can see Avignon in the distance and from the front, you can view the old chateau. Being in old town means that you are steps away from a Michelin restaurant (recommended!) and Madeleine made that happen for us as well as set up a wine tasting from a 5 generation winery now run by two sisters (Domaine Pontifical) which is two doors away. We were able to park on the street directly in front of the door. Our dog was well received and the stay was absolutely amazing. There are so many tasting rooms nearby that it definitely warrants another visit!Un très bon séjour!By the way, we bought our bikes and rode through the vineyards stopping at a few different wineries and the next day rode the ViaRhôna bike path into Avignon for lunch.
Words can’t explain just how lovely this apartment and village are. Lovely rooms big living kitchen area with everything you need and the most beautiful terrace with a spa and wonderful views for relaxing on. We ate all our meals out here as well since the weather was so perfect. Madeleine and Paul are exceptional hosts meeting us late in our first evening to show us everything then being available when we had any questions. We also were able to use their lovely pool at their home just down the road. We also enjoyed being right in the village and were able to walk to bakery and other stores not to mention the wine tasting at all the Wine caves in the town. Don’t forget to do sunset up at the Chateau the views are amazing. I highly recommend Gîte Gabriel.

Thank so much for your review, Michelle. It was great meeting you, Trish and Madeleine. The photo at sunset is fabulous.
Excellent stay - close to all amenities; Avignon can be seen in the distance. The hosts were very helpful. I liked the available selection of local wines in the apartment on an tab basis.

The location could not be better: two blocks from the very center of the town. The apartment is, also, perched on the side of a hill, so its spacious terrace gives a view out over the valley and all the way to the river.
The living room/kitchen area is spacious and comfortable, with refrigerator, freezer, and (stocked) wine cooler, as well as everything needed to cook and serve meals. The wines are the host's own selection and are available for purchase. The two bedrooms are each decent-sized with comfortable beds. [Was there aircon?] The bathroom has a good walk-in shower and heated towel rack; toilet is in a separate room.
The gem of the apartment is the broad terrace with a hot tub that seats six. There are also outdoor chairs and an outdoor dining table. In early October, it was too cool to linger outside over a meal but not too cool to enjoy the hot tub. Use of the hot tub incurs an additional charge.
This is a quiet location. There is on-street parking in front of the residence but it may not always be available, however public parking is available not too far away. Wifi was excellent.
The flat is one floor up from the street so it may be a challenge for mobility-impaired.
Quibbles: the coffee maker has passed its prime and the bathroom sink needs declogging. But overall, this is top-flight accommodation and worth the price. The hostess was very easy to communicate with and helpful.
Our stay at this property was short but very enjoyable. The owners Madeleine and Paul, are very welcoming and helpful. The apartment has a large living room and the kitchen had all we needed. The beds were very comfortable, which is not that common from our previous experience. The best part of the apartment is the huge terrace where you can sunbathe, enjoy a drink or a meal, have BBQ and if you fancy a hot tub - you can have that too! The views were amazing, the village is beautiful and must be explored; and the proximity of good restaurants and wineries is very convenient too! We just wished we could have stayed longer - maybe next time!

Madeleine and Paul were excellent hosts—friendly, communicative and personable—and the property was as good as described. Châteauneuf is a beautiful town, and the view of the Château from the gîte was gorgeous. A fully appointed kitchen (minus oven) plus a patio grill are everything needed to cook. There are dozens of wineries within a ten-minute walk that offer free tastings, and even more domaines just out of town. Do not miss the Autant de Pains boulangerie!

The manager met us at the apartment and gave us a tour, explaining how everything worked. She was very helpful and kind. She offered us use of their nearby pool which my husband and daughter enjoyed one afternoon of our visit. The apartment is clean, comfortable, private, and spacious. It has a lovely veranda. It’s located near the center of town. We walked to wonderful restaurants and tasting rooms. It’s also close to nearby wineries and Avignon where we had dinner one evening. We look forward to returning!

A beautiful apartment in the heart of Chateauneuf-du-Pape
A very comfortable and well stocked apartment with beautiful views both of the Chateau on one side and the Rhone valley on the other. There was there was a hot tub on the veranda, and the owners allowed us to use their private pool at their house which was lovely.
Parking was on street parking, often immediately outside the house; we never had to park more than 30 metres from the apartment.
Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a beautiful village as well as being a short drive to Orange and Avignon amongst others (both of which are recommended).
Highly recommend a stay at Madeleine & Paul's gite (and for those of us who don't speak French, Madeleine's English was excellent).

Really nice, comfortable gite in the centre of Chateauneuf-du-Pape with easy access to amenities
Well decorated and appointed gite, great location, nice balcony for sitting in sun or shade. Beautiful and comfortable bedrooms. Awesome shower! The pool isn't at the gite but is only 5-mins walk, so not a problem. Felt really well looked after by the owners. A proper oven rather than a microwave would make the place perfect, although I did have use of the oven in the adjoining gite if I needed it. Merci beaucoup, Paul et Madeleine - c'etait vraiment formidable!
