This cottage was very private although other cottages were close by. We loved it being so close to the Parkway and downtown Blowing Rock. The kitchen is very small but we didn't do much cooking so it wasn't a big deal. We will most likely stay at this cottage again next year.

Nice, quiet setting in the woods. Great access to Blowing Rock as Skyland View Drive becomes South Main Street as it crosses US 321. Straight shot to center of town. Boone is only 10-15 away, north on 321 (Vally Blvd). Modest galley Kitchen, but LR/Great Room and Bedrooms are all roomy. Plenty of hot water. Plenty of outdoor space on porches.

The oven did not work. We were instructed to bring firewood and Keurig cups. It was a gas fireplace, no fire pit. The thermocoupler on the fireplace is bad so would not stay lit. The Keurig did not work properly so we had to buy coffee. There was a lightbulb missing in the LR and the clock battery had died. The mgmt company did send out a toaster oven and a tech to look at the fireplace - of course this took time from our schedule. He did have a lightbulb and battery. The deck was I disarray and not blown of leaves. The BBQ grill looked like it was a child's.

The house was nicely decorated, had a cozy fireplace in the living room with plenty of seating, nice dining area and nicely appointed small kitchen. Very good location and parking was a bit small for us but we had three vehicles. All in all well worth the money.

Sky Laurel Cottage is very roomy, comfortable and clean, and communication with host was very easy, professional, and response was quick! This is our second stay here and we will definitely rent again when going to Blowing Rock!

Lovely cabin great location

Great Get Away Home

Small and quaint with little nooks and hideaways. Close to Blowing Rock - 5 minute drive. We went to Winterfest and it was perfect for a short trip.

We loved the Sky Laurel Cottage! It is very cute and comfortable and has a great layout for a family with teens so everyone can have their own space. It’s centrally located in Blowing Rock but on a quiet road. The kitchen is tiny, as others mention, so not where you’d stay in you want to do much cooking. We would definitely stay here again.

App State game

We stayed at Sky Laurel for the App State vs JMU game. The cottage was super clean and comfy. It was easy to get to which was nice because of the icy conditions. It’s also very close to downtown Blowing Rock and a short drive or Uber to Boone. We would definitely stay again.
