Welcome!We love hospitality and are excited to host you at ElKen Retreat in the small, quaint East TX town of Canton!You'll be treated to personalized touches throughout your stay and are sure to walk away with a happy heart because of your experience!

ElKen Retreat (suite 5) is a pool house that is a separate space behind our home (combined with a garage). The double doors open to the pool and waterfall for a nice treat :). We also offer 3 suites listed that are behind our home., as well as suite 4, which is a private room attached to our house. You will be treated to 2 wonderful Twin beds, and also have a Serta mattress on a comfy rolling bed that can be brought into the foyer area (added fee for more than 2 guests).

Jason is a Licensed Massage Therapist with his office on our property. Book your spa package during your stay! ($100/hour Added fee- pay after services; not available on Sundays)

Depending on the day and schedules, breakfast options include omelettes (made to order🎉) or egg casserole, homemade biscuits, bacon, gravy(normally served on Saturdays); french toast & sausage (normally served on Sundays); or muffins (normally served on weekdays). We serve breakfast in our dining room or on the back covered porch/pool deck area. If your stay is more than 3 days, we’ll chat about breakfast options on days 4+. We communicate before or during your stay to accommodate our guests as much as possible!

Pool and hot tub are just around the corner from your private room 😊 Hot tub is closed during the summer. Pool may also be seasonal. Hot tub is under a covered porch. Hot tub is for guests 18 and older only.

We do have a sweet dog- Sadie, our schnauzer and 2 cutie goldendoodle puppies, Hazel and Blair- who may greet you and “talk” occasionally..we quiet them as quickly as we can!!

When you arrive, you'll park on concrete or asphalt, walk through a lovely gate and enter into your own private retreat. Walk around the pool to your room. If weather permits, you can enjoy the pool and hot tub, along with a very large covered back porch with tables and chairs.

Suite 4 was started as a rental in October of 2018...because it was going well for us and our guests;). We soon expanded to this space that shares with Jason’s office and in 2020, we completed a brand new addition to ElKen Retreat. Connected by the roof, but behind our home, we added 3 large bedrooms with 3 bathrooms (walk in showers) and a large gathering space with commercial kitchen and half bath. One bedroom has a Serta icomfort (so comfy) King bed and sofa sleeper. Two bedrooms have 4 twin beds (also comfy Serta icomfort beds with high end bedding!)... All rooms have extra space to add a roll in Serta cot for another person. Also available is our King bedroom (attached to our home; separate from this space, but on same property).

Retreat for the weekend: girls trip, Bible study, scrapbook, quilt, spa, leadership retreats, business retreats.

*Tell us why you are coming and we'll accommodate (pricing can vary)! Spa can include infrared sauna, massage therapy by licensed massage therapist, hot tub, facials, aromatherapy, saltwater pool.
*Use of the Gathering Place - a great room with 3 large tv's, kitchen (rules apply), tables, chairs, relaxing environment, etc...we will accommodate your needs!
