Florida Waterfront Country Home, Fishing & Pet Friendly

Enjoy a cozy waterfront cottage nestled in the backwoods of Madison County Florida, one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas in North Florida! If you are adventurous this is the place for you! This small country home has one large bedroom with a new queen size memory foam mattress (sleeps 2) a futon (sleeps 2 children) and a 32" TV with ROKU and DVD player for movies. A large equipt kitchen and bathroom with bathtub/shower. The Living-room has a futon (sleeps one or two). For an extra guest there is an air mattress. There is Internet/Wifi (the password is posted on the fridge) and a 50" TV with ROKU and DVD player with movies or rent movies from the Redbox just down the road in front of the Dollar General Store. The beautiful stone fireplace is decorative only! The property is on 2 acres of nature and wildlife with a canopy of trees and beautiful sunsets on the water! Watch for the deer, turkeys and huge owls that come by! This is the perfect place for a truly relaxing vacation getting back to basics to enjoy the beauty of nature and outdoor fun! Board games and cards are provided for family fun! There is a canoe, life jackets and Fishing poles are in the well house for some good bass fishing or sit on the dock to soak up some Florida sun! This is private property and you do not need a fishing license to fish here! You may also set up tents for a great camping experience! Roast marshmallows by the rustic fire pit or sit on the back deck where smoking is permitted and outdoor chairs are provided! A charcoal grill is provided for your cooking out pleasure, need to supply your own charcoal. Phlox Pond may be rented for events such as weddings for an additional charge. Guest would be responsible for property clean up as well as any property damage. Message owner for details. Be sure to visit the many beautiful parks and natural springs as well as the famous Suwanee River Music Park located in Live Oak. Wild Adventures Amusement Park is nearby and plenty of restaurants and shopping in Valdosta Georgia just 30 minutes away! Dollar General is one mile and Winn Dixie is in town about 10 miles! You are sure to enjoy the southern charm of Madison County and the small town of Pinetta! This home is in the middle of the woods and the lightening bugs are really cool. We know you will enjoy this country getaway!
BE SURE TO WATCH THE VIDEO OF THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE! If you need additional space we also have Phlox Place (a cozy cabin) just down the road!
If you are looking for a good church during your visit, Pinetta United Methodist Church is just 5 minuets down the road on the corner at Colin Kelly Hwy. We did have a Cat 3 hurricane come through last fall and Madison is still cleaning up the down trees. Thankfully plenty of firewood for the firepit!

We have stayed here before and like the quite on the lake. You are within an hour of most of the Good springs. Very secure, no traffic.

A perfect place for a peaceful, relaxing stay. .

We had a great time fishing in the pond and just relaxing with our mom to celebrate her 79th birthday. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and it so peaceful out there! Thanks for a great stay! :-)

Little fishing trip

Great little place for fishing and a country get away. Watch the gator’s though they are definitely out there. I enjoyed the stay.

Retired adults

If you are looking for a remote rustic place to stay, this is perfect. The cabin could use some TLC ( chipped plaster in the kitchen, fixtures falling off the bathroom wall, a toilet perfect height for a 5 year old) and some pest control (mouse droppings throughout) it would be a very nice place to stay.

Beautiful quiet secluded cottage

This place is perfect to unwind and relax an get away from people. We loved fishing off the dock during the day an relaxing by the fire at night. Wish we could have spent more time here. If you love the outdoors I recommend this place!! Only thing I would suggest if traveling with other adults or teenagers bring air mattresses.

Nice getaway but needs outdoor lighting and a clean grill

The property is stunning .....we had 4 children and 4 adults ...I would suggest some lights on the dock.... fridge did not close properly ...stove did not work but 2 burners air mattress didnot work but all and all a wonderful trip ty

Cute and Quiet relaxation destination

We stayed here not wanting to drive home from Wild Adventures! This was the perfect spot! The hubs & i went fishing on the canoe and it was so relaxing. I totally would stay again. Nice and clean. And quiet. Only bad thing was i listened to GPS and not the listing advice on how to get there. I'm pretty sure I drove through peoples yards . Whoops. But I figured it out . Haha . Great home. Great host

Great location and get away spot!

I loved the location and the pond. The area was exactly what I was looking for - seclusion. The only concern I had was when we tried to find the location. We arrived at night and, due to the darkness, had a difficult time looking for the specific directions provided to us. When I called the host and left a msg, I never heard back. Fortunately, we stopped at a few locations and they provided directions. Maybe I called the wrong number, but it was odd not to be called back....but we found it anyways.

Yes, you can get away from it all!

The owners description and photos were spot on, and I thank them for that! It's hard to describe a real cabin on a very large pond (although I would call it a small lake!) in a quiet location. The cabin is on 2 acres and the dock is a really nice size. It has the ambiance of your grandparents lakeside summer cabin updated with modern amenities like A/C, lots of hot water, Roku TV, great WiFi service. If you need to get any supplies, the Dollar General is 5 min away in the nice, clean, quiet town of Pinetta. We didn't go offsite to do tourist things so I can't elaborate on that. What I can say is if you truly want to get away from the hustle and bustle and not panic because of no wifi or streaming services you will like this place. The owners respond to your emails very quickly and they are very polite and generous. This would be a great place to visit for all 4 seasons.

Very private

the house was very clean. There are some maintenance issues. Dark in the kitchen and the frt left burner on stove seems to go to high by itself as others have already reported. The water has a strong iron smell and taste, so need bottled water and bag of ice. outside needs better organizing. the lawn chairs were sitting out and dirty. we had our own camp chairs to take out to dock for coffee and beer. Overall a really cool spot. be advised this is real Florida. not disney world. so bring your bug repellant and take care when you flip the canoe over.

Rustic, Quiet, Peaceful, Secluded

The lake and dock are amazing and beautiful. The stars at night were gorgeous. We got some great photos. Saw an owl and a racoon on the property and a small alligator in the lake. The inside of the house was clean and disinfected when we arrived, though there was a lingering smell to the place during our visit. The internet speed was enough to check emails and browse websites, but not enough to stream videos on the TV. Good selection of movies and games however. There isn't a washer and dryer on the property, which we hadn't realized when we booked the place, but we only stayed for a few days so it was fine. There were plenty of towels and linens. The bed is rather firm - much more so than we were used to but not uncomfortable. We used the stove and oven and had no issues with it. There's a really nice paved multi-use trail nearby along the main road that we explored and we were able to get just about everything we needed from the Dollar General not far from the house, which was convenient. While the yard is not completely fenced in for pets, it is still a rather dog-friendly property overall, which we appreciated. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The location is very quiet, peaceful and secluded.

What makes this property unique

The sunsets on the pond are the most beautiful. Be sure to watch for the deer as they do come out of the woods and are sometimes on the side of the road. The wild turkeys and birds are amazing too! Mr. Owl comes out at dusk and sits in his favorite tree out front,,, If you like nature, you will love it here!
