About this property

Coyote Ridge Cabin, 4 Seasons, Off Grid

Completely off grid, clean, spacious, and thoroughly comfortable- Coyote Ridge Cabin offers rusticating at its finest. Featuring a kitchen with cold, running spring water (40 gallon tank), gas cook stove, refrigerator and freezer, minimal solar with a charging station, no wifi, but excellent cell service (AT&T, Verizon and other major national carriers), an outdoor bath (manually filled. June to October.) , a very comfortable queen sized bed in a spacious bed loft, a battery powered fan, a queen sized fold-out couch, board games, oil lamps, wood stove, flash lights, a spacious deck with lounging and dining, a gas barbecue grill, fire pit with chairs (free firewood) a canoe, 2 kayaks, 2 fishing poles and tackle.
Located on a tranquil and private 40 acres of blueberry barrens and bucolic forest overlooking the Narraguagus River Valley.
Visit the many surrounding lakes and the Narraguagus River for prime fishing, swimming, and paddling.
Hike, bike, ski, snowmobile, and ATV any of the many trails abutting the property.
Watch the sunrise from the deck with a mug of coffee.
Grill some freshly caught fish and dine on the deck.
Enjoy a game of Scrabble by lamplight.
Relax under the brilliant stars at the fire pit with a drink and some smores.
Just a short drive to the coast and Acadia National Park (Schoodic Penninsula) and about an hour and a half to Mount Desert Island and Bar Harbor.
Take a scenic road trip to the charming village of Lubec- a stone's throw across the harbor to Canada.

Kids can pitch a tent (yours) and go full camping mode or sleep on the queen sized fold-out couch.

Note:
- There is NO SHOWER. However, there is a manually filled outdoor bath.
-There is NO FLUSH TOILET. But there is a very pleasant, odor free/spider free outhouse.
- There is NO WIFI, but there is cell service.
- There is NO TV. But there are infinite stars and a fire pit.
-I offer a free weekly laundry service for guests staying multiple weeks.
-I request that guests book a minimum of 7 nights from June 4 to Oct 29 with a check-in on Saturdays. This is negotiable depending on demand.
-Due to its remote and woody location, the months of May to September are pretty buggy.
- I often receive delayed notifications from VRBO- usually the day after the booking request. If this happens, try again the following day. Apologies!

Idyllic & Restorative
The photos of this cabin and the property are gorgeous, and yet they somehow don't do it justice. It is so much more than you'll ever be able to infer from a few pictures, though I'm certain you'll want to take a few of your own. Out stay was incredible - from the little touches that make life off the grid a bit easier, to the amazing star gazing, to the wildlife and views - and before you ask, yes, there is a coffee pot (a french press)... two of them, actually. I would (and will) return her again and again for the experience and bonding time I had at Acorn Cabin with my kids. Thank you, David, for quite an indescribable family vacation my girls will never forget.

Cozy and beautiful and clean
We had a lovely stay at David’s cabin! The place was warm with a fire already going in the wood stove when we arrived; the kitchen was stocked with all the basics; every detail felt thoughtful. We explored the woods and went on lovely walks, enjoyed the stars and the quiet, and had a comfortable and cozy short stay over the holiday. David was communicative and kind and I hope to return someday!

Acorn Cabin
The Acorn Cabin was the perfect home base for all of the things we wanted to do and see in while in Maine! The cabin had everything we could have asked for, and David was really easy to communicate with. The attention to detail and craftsmanship make this a must stay if you are looking for something off grid!

Blueberry magic!
We had a wonderful weeklong stay at the Acorn Cabin. David has anticipated every need and made it incredibly comfortable, while off the grid and environmentally friendly. In addition to being able to relax and enjoy the fresh blueberries, the quiet, and the fresh air, we learned a lot about the building, the property, the surrounding area... and outhouse composting! The level of attention to detail is unlike any place I have every stayed and it felt like a luxurious getaway while out in the woods.

Hi there!
I moved to Maine about 20 years ago- with my newborn daughter- from NYC by way of Alaska, where I got a taste of real off-grid living. I'm an artist and a self employed builder by trade. Building the cabin was a passion project for me and continues to be as I make improvements and tweak things whenever I can so I can offer the best possible experience for my guests (and myself).

I hope you enjoy Acorn Cabin as much as I do!
