Gorgeous property. Gracious hosts who thought of every amenity. The bucolic setting is secluded and beautiful. We enjoyed having coffee in the mornings watching a family of deer grazing, bunnies in the garden and hawks flying overhead. There was a majestic owl that visited a nearby tree every afternoon. Just an incredible place.
We had a superb time this weekend. The property is beautiful and massive. We had plenty of space for all 18 of us.The pool and the hot tub were a hit for everyone while the kids loved the game room !Lastly the host was super responsive when I had questions
We absolutely love this home, it was perfect for our family. Plenty of room to spread out, the kids loved the game room. Close to the wineries. We will be coming back.
We stayed at Spanish Retreat for our annual cousins reunion. The main home, 2 casitas and the grounds were absolutely perfect for our needs. It’s a stunning home with too many amazing amenities to list. Melissa, the house manager, was incredibly kind and responsive. In fact, I inadvertently left some jewelry behind, which she located and has returned to me. Truly an unforgettable weekend and given the chance, we’ll definitely work with Hacienda Vacation Rentals again!!
Who knew heaven had an address on VRBO? Our group of 6 families with 11-year-old girls just returned from what can only be described as the ultimate "how to make parents feel like they've actually succeeded at vacation" masterclass. The kitchen wasn't just stocked—it was equipped like a culinary command center. Those knives could slice through vacation tension like butter, and the pans? Let's just say Gordon Ramsay would have nothing to yell about. Finally, a rental where "fully equipped kitchen" doesn't mean "one bent spatula and a suspicious can opener."The cleanliness level bordered on supernatural. I'm talking "did-we-accidentally-book-an-operating-room?" clean.Between pool splashes and bocce ball tournaments, our group of 18 found that rare vacation unicorn: a place spacious enough for togetherness without requiring therapy afterward. If you're looking for the holy grail of group getaways—where "togetherness" doesn't become a four-letter word by day three—you've found it. Just leave some availability for our inevitable return!
We had our annual family reunion at the Spanish Camp Retreat. The property has a swimming pool, a putting green, an old-school video game machine, and multiple fire pits. Wineries and a golf course are located nearby. The grandparents, parents, and children in our group all had a wonderful time.
Eight of us gathered from various geographies to enjoy a family weekend together. This property is just amazing. Tons of seating areas to either gather together around a fire pit. Or to sneak away and read a book. Very much an outdoor type of place. Tons of games.... Outdoor bocce ball, horseshoes, basketball, putting green and oh the pool is large!! Several of our group did morning lap swims. The indoor game room was very fun.
The property manager was extremely responsive and very available. During our stay there was a car accident in the area that took down a power pole and our power. The property manager was completely on it and sent me regular text updates regarding status.
It's close to downtown, tin city and wineries. The house is lovely inside but it really is better suited for outdoor gatherings. The property is large and extensive and is a habitat for many birds.
My only complaint was number of bathrooms. Listing said 4 full and there are only 2 full in the main house plus powder room and one full in Casita. It was fine, but less than my expectations.
The only other thing to factor in is restriction on noise. It travels easily and there is sensitivity to noise levels. It was fine for our group, we enjoyed a rowdy afternoon game of pool volleyball and hung around the fire pits in the evening. But they definitely are looking for guests who will respect the after 10 quiet hours. It is a really special getaway for a large group that I would highly recommend.
There were 13 of us gathered for Thanksgiving, ranging in age from 13 to 81. The weather was perfect and we were very happy that we had asked for the pool to be heated. This is a wonderful house for all ages with a myriad of activities, and I think we used all of them. The kitchen is very well equipped and there were plenty of beds. Especially enjoyed evenings in the game room where we gathered for pool and poker. Great location for hiking and visiting Paso Robles. The property manager was very responsive and helpful.
This house was perfect for our big family 5-day vacation. The house and casita itself are really well-taken-care-of and the pool is absolutely essential if you're in Paso during the summer. The grounds are large and there are so many places to sit down and relax, I think we used all of them! It's only 5 minutes or so to downtown Paso, and wineries everywhere, as well as the coast about 30 minutes away. There were 14 people (adults and children) staying here, as well as another 7 staying in town and we always gathered here to spend the day. It really was perfect, and everyone in our party said we might just need to go here every year! :)
The management is very helpful and responds quickly to all text messages or concerns. They are flexible and helpful, and you don't feel like they're breathing down your neck checking on you 24/7. That's a plus.
Note: this is not a party house! If you're planning to make a ton of noise, drink, and get crazy, this place is not for you. Quiet hours after 10pm are exactly that, and it appeared to me that one of the neighbors is a bit testy about noise (even during the day). It didn't bother us (and we made a LOT of noise playing games in the pool!), but just be aware that the noise guidelines are strict.
We enjoyed our stay at Spanish Camp. My three children (ages 6-11) had many activities to choose from: swimming in the large pool with volleyball net, hot tub, basketball, pool table, poker table, air hockey, table tennis, arcade games, darts and a small putting green. We brought our bikes and rode around the area, and visited a few vineyards. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. It was the perfect place to stay to keep my family engaged, especially during the pandemic. We will stay here again.
We found this property when looking for a way to safely see our LA family in a place where we didn't really have to leave but could still see each other and spend time together. We had 4 kids ages 10-15, two sets of parents and one grandparent. The kids had a BLAST in the pool and game room and there was SO much space for everyone to be together or spread out. This house has everything. We will will definitely be back!
We came to Paso to be together as a family. Ww thoroughly enjoyed our time on the property.
The property is amazing. We enjoyed grabbing some wine at the wineries and bringing it back to the house to enjoy the beauty on the property. I would love to come back in six months and rent this home with my kids for my 50th. I loved it that much. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.
The property was everything and more than what we hoped for!
We went for wife/mother’s 70th birthday 3 generations. . After experiencing and hearing horror stories about properties looking one way and another once you arrive we kept our fingers crossed. When we arrived the property was all that we hoped for and even more. Awesome, we enjoyed every minute of our stay.
We wanted to have a place for a family retreat to spend some time together at a magnificent property with all of the immenities possible. We couldn't have chosen better.
So we rented this house for my son's 30th. The property was amazing. The property sleeps 18 but there was only 8 of us due to Covid. We enjoyed the property immensely. It is centrally located to downtown and the wineries. I wish we would have more time just to enjoy the property.
The property is lovely and well maintained. Even with 17 family members ranging from 4 to 72, there was always a spot for folks to read quietly, bask by the pool, play billiards or work out!
The Spanish Camp Retreat was a great place to stay. The property was clean, spacious and had plenty of privacy. The pool area and game room were the highlights of the place.
