About the host
Hosted by Michelle and Tom and Charlotte

Michelle grew up in Ontario, Canada, and NJ and Tom is from The Palouse area of Washington. We have lived in Wilsonville for over 30 years and absolutely love it. Michelle volunteered on our neighborhood HOA, Wilsonville's Parks Board, Development Review Board, and was elected to City Council. Tom and Michelle both volunteered with US Sailing and various youth sailing organizations.
We love Wilsonville and hope you will too.

Why they chose this property
After moving from NYC I (Michelle) thought Seattle was the smallest city I could ever live in and certainly never pictured myself living in a suburb of Portland, OR. But...the love of my life, Tom lived in Wilsonville and it didn't take long for Wilsonville to capture my heart too. Now I can't imagine living anywhere else. It's not like most suburbs and our home isn't like most suburban homes. Our home is in a nice neighborhood with a large yard that backs up to a park on one side, green space in the back, and friendly neighbors with privacy bamboo planted on the other giving us a lovely, private yard. We especially love that we can walk to the local pub (McMenamins), our favorite breakfast spot (I Hop). coffee shop (Starbucks near Sonic) and the grocery store (Fred Meyer or Safeway). They are all about 1 mile away. Even closer we have the Graham Oaks Nature Area, and lovely wooded Tranquil Park is right behind our house.
Wilsonville is well-planned, and beautiful and all the cultural and recreational activities we love are just a short drive away. Please note the "Explore the area" section of the listing is AI generated and incorrect.

What makes this property unique
I love watching the birds while I'm eating breakfast at my kitchen table. We get Hummingbirds, Steller Blue Jays, Goldfinches, Acorn, Downy and other Woodpeckers and Flickers, Varied Thrush, Evening Grosbeaks, Towhees, Mountain Chickadees, Nuthatches, lovely red House Finches, Mourning Doves, and a bunch of others I don't know. We even had a pair of neighborhood wild turkeys but I haven't seen them in a while. I've had an ongoing battle with the squirrels who have been raiding my bird feeders but we have come to a truce. I feed them peanuts (unsalted only) occasionally and they stay out of my bird feeders. It helps that I changed all the hangers to fishing line they haven't figured out how to defeat yet. It's fun watching their acrobatics as they try. I also loved raising my daughter in this house. It's easy to child-proof the downstairs and the huge backyard kept her busy. We have lots of edible plants (full disclosure...not everything in our yard is edible so if you have small children keep an eye on them. As of this post we do not have anything I know to be deadly) We do have kiwi, grapes, strawberries, blueberries (just a few), raspberries (also just a few), culinary herbs...Bay leaves, rosemary, thyme, mint, and chives. Some years I plant parsley and cilantro too and there are tons of blackberries behind our fence.
